Still should have taken a knee...the Outside linebacker could have blitzed and intercepted a pass...no chances at that point.
Again...the snap happened 25 seconds after the McClellan catch play ended. If he was in hurry up...he needs to HURRY UP!Forgive me, I have not read this whole thread and if this has been mentioned I apologize.
The reason Milroe threw the pass was because he was hurrying to get a play off before the officials reviewed the previous play. I believe the tape shows it was a legal catch on the play before, but regardless, I believe Milroe was trying to beat the review and hurriedly threw an ill advised pass. JMHO
Agree completely, I just understand how in that moment it would be easy to see that guy wide open and blank on taking the knee.Still should have taken a knee...the Outside linebacker could have blitzed and intercepted a pass...no chances at that point.
I'm not sure taking a knee was even being considered. JM was in the pistol. You don't typically snap the ball back 4 yards to the QB if the play is to take a knee and milk the clock.Agree completely, I just understand how in that moment it would be easy to see that guy wide open and blank on taking the knee.
How happy would this board be if we had lost like miami because of that? This is why a lot of us were upset about it. He couldn't take advantage of the opportunity. That's the basis for most of our argument in regards to Milroe.
Yup!How happy would this board be if we had lost like miami because of that?
I would go with right read but terrible throw.. He skipped it to him. The staff upstairs should of been more vocal and let them know the play before was hands down a completed pass and his knee was not down. trust me if it had been anything other than 100% they would of called for a replay. I am more than a little ****ed off at the SEC officiating but hey whats new for a Bama fan.He saw the guy was wide open and "spaced out" about the "time" in the game.
Like you said, "right read" but "wrong time."
