There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Junior’s meeting (with related email documentation) with JK, Manafort and the Russians met the threshold of conspiracy; read the law against working with foreigners during an election campaign and if you come to any other conclusion you simply can’t understand English, or don’t want to.
The question is: why no indictment? Was Junior actually working in an “official” capacity for the campaign? Was JK? We know Manafort was (not sure of the timing here). Or was it simply none of them were “aware” they were breaking the law (similar to Comey’s reasoning with Hillary’s emails? (Go back and listen to his press conference where he recommends not pressing any charges against her, if you’re wondering.)
Or was there just an unwillingness to indict members of the First Family? We know there would have been a pardon, if he/they had been indicted, but that shouldn’t be a reason not to indict.
I guess we’ll know soon. I sure hope so.

If that’s the case, shouldn’t Hillary and the dems be charged for working with foreigners during an election campaign?

As far as I'm aware Mueller hasn't said anything. The report may recommend indictments or other actions. We also don't know that yet. By all reports Mueller is a by the book person. If he felt that his mandate was only to investigate and report then the previous indictments (Manafort/Flynn/etc) may have been only in furtherance of the investigation and any further actions would be recommended or given to other districts. That is still just speculation because unlike all the Trumpsters running wild I'm happy to say that we just don't know where this is going yet.

There's a lot of chicken counting going on in this thread.
By the book doesn’t take two years and ignore crimes Hillary and her supporters committed.

It would appear that there is a lot left to be determined, but from what the AG stated in his letter it looks like game, set, and match for the Mueller investigation.

Look, I know some of you guys have little control over your anger, but if you cannot stop with the personal attacks and name calling, you're going to get a mandatory vacation.

We give a little more latitude here on NS than most areas of TF.com, but the name calling and personal attacks are going to stop.

Name-calling and personal attacks...

It has reached a new high and it's going to stop, whether it's aimed at an individual or a group of individuals. Show your vocabulary and make your point without it. If the forum is getting under your skin, back off for a while and give it (and us) a rest. It's against site policies - even here - and always has been...

Re: Name-calling and personal attacks...

I just added personal attacks. If you're about to start a sentence with "You" or "Are you," think first. The odds are that it's personal in nature. We're not going to have it, no matter how many depart or are removed...

For those who've not been paying attention for the last 2 years.

Trump just won the 2020 election imo.
Really come down to whether or not the Dems can get a single candidate and rally behind him or her.

But yeah, after all this build up, this is not the Mueller report that was expected, and it only helps Trump - he'll hammer on this over and over for the next two years. That assumes none of the other investigations uncover anything, but this report says:
"the Special Counsel noted that, in completing his investigation, he employed 19 lawyers who were assisted by a team of approximately 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and other professional staff. The Special Counsel issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communication records, issued almost 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers, made 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence, and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses."
Hard to believe something was kept hidden from the investigation...

As I've said several times on the board, this was a waste of the democrat's effort in getting their centrist emotionally invested in it. The DSA has done more in the last 2 years to advance a real progressive narrative that could appeal to the working class than the democrats and this is why I'm almost certain they will lose. They ought to have embraced Bernie post-2016, cultivated a unified front on progressive appeals, and found a younger progressive in this time period that could reasonably expect to carry that mantle in Bernie's stead. Instead, they pretty much sold their centrists on the police state alphabet soup coming to the rescue and ending Trump while also proving that the centrist dem approach isn't broken if not dead. This could've been time used on appealing to centrists who are still in the nougat-y center of capital that their self-interest is served by conceding some progressive aims. It would've unified the party. Instead people like me have just been sitting here smugly shaking my head at the DNP finding a way to assure no party unity in what ought to be a slam dunk one term presidency unseating.

If it really is the economy he has a chance:

Employment rates are not really a great metric. For example when I went from a white collar software dev in 2008/2009 to national guard specialist after losing my job, I stayed employed but I wasn't earning the same amount of money. I was worse off in many ways but thankful to have a job that was sending me back to school, occasionally offering up full-time opportunities, and generally making my resume look like I wasn't a listless dirtbag.

I know there are a lot of uninformed/stupid voters but that seems to be a huge stretch.
Yeah you and I said that in 2016 during the Nevada Primary when someone brought it up but look at where we are.

I’ve stopped doubting Trump’s understanding of the voting Public

CBO says we will be having trillion dollar yearly deficits by then. How stupid can voters be?
As stupid as they've been for 40 years - at least?

I hear ya, but the stats will get touted relentlessly. A few anecdotal stories won't take that away, though I do feel for you and hope your situation improves quickly.

I'm doing fine now. The national guard was huge assistance in regaining my footing and helped put me in a position to be where I am today.

I just can't help but think back to the litany of metrics I've seen regarding worker productivity v. wages over the last 40 or so years. I'm really skeptical of anything that says THE ECONOMY IS GREAT because the lived experience by the numbers seems to indicate that half or more of this country is experiencing a multi-decade boa constrictor effect on their livelihood.

For everyone saying this report isn’t what they were expecting. All we have thus far is a summary by the AG that Trump appointed and that had attacked the investigation prior to his appointment.

An AG that apparently doesn’t think the President obstructed justice despite the President admitting to obstructing justice on national tv (evidently the decision on obstruction was left to Barr). An AG that was likely appointed specifically to help out perception of this investigation and that had previously been a part of helping brush an investigation into Republicans under the rug.

I would hope that Barr would act above board but I’m not sure that I trust his summary in this particular situation.

I for one want to know what is in the actual report before rushing to judgement.
