- An additional bowl-ban year (2018).
- Because of that total two-year bowl ban, NCAA rules state Ole Miss players are now free to transfer elsewhere without sitting out a season.
- Probation running concurrently with current probation for a total of four years.
- Financial penalties.
- A total scholarship reduction of 13 over a period of years. That’s an additional 3 to the 10 over four years that Ole Miss self-imposed, which already meant three or four fewer scholarship players per year.
- Every coach named in the NCAA’s investigation has received a show-cause (essentially an NCAA blackball for a period of time). That doesn’t include new head coach Matt Luke, who wasn’t named. Former assistant David Saunders’ show-cause runs for eight years. Former staffer Barney Farrar faces five.

So...does the player have to go looking at other schools on their own or can they be contacted by an interested School?

Wow. Didn't think I would see the NCAA hand down penalties like this again. I wonder how many transfer out.

Oxford got nuked this morning. It may be two full recruiting cycles (8 years) before they truly recover and that is assuming they have a coach worth a darn.

They got off light IMO. They had already self imposed 10 or 11 scholly's(one site said 10, another 11) and the NCAA adds 3. Not what they deserved. Bama got a lot more if memory serves correctly when they were hit.

No. The 13 is in ADDITION TO the 11 self imposed.

I just wonder how many of their high end players (Shea Patterson, AJ Brown, etc.) decide to transfer out. No way would I stay in that dumpster fire.

The 13 scholarship reduction from the NCAA is in addition to the 11 self-imposed by Ole Miss for a total of 24 scholarships reduced. You misread it.

You're reading it incorrectly - OM had self-imposed 11, NCAA added 13 more (total of 24).

These are similar to the penalties levied against Bama and USC oner the last 20 years, and despite being blue-bloods, it cratered both school for half a decade. OM might not recover for 10 years.

It was delayed gratification, but still gratifying...
While the NCAA didn't burn em down, they certainly crippled them.
I will take pleasure in watching their struggles for relevance. :)

KARMA... Meet Ole Sis's backside. :)
