Game Thread: NCAA Tournament Round 5/FINAL FOUR - TV schedule: Saturday April 5, 2025

A. Lot of teams struggle in bounding and against a press but no one really ever uses it unless they have to. I do think at the end of game it is tougher to play against though because refs swallow the whistle lot more and you see lots of grabbing and holding on guys trying to get open.

Holy cow I’m surprised Houston won! When I left the sports bar earlier and Duke seemed to have the game in control.

watched it after the fact but man would I have loved to have played that duke. Or just that proctor. Oh well. Feel like Houston stole one here but they are elite. Love our offense but if we don’t play d like these teams we’ll always hit a wall at some point. It’s weird you don’t have to be a great athlete to play great defense. Guess I’ll be a Florida fan for another game 🤢

We can take all our size excuses against Duke and roll them up after what Houston just showed us. Smaller than us cross the board and yet their signature ruthless defense outshone our high-flying offense. It may be boring, but it’s moving on.

So many times tonight I saw Houston make switches quickly tonight that we were late on or missed entirely. The way their used their bodies down low to leverage and guide Duke to the area they wanted was masterful. Supremely confident rebounding. So many little things that we remain hazy on defensively, the details, that kept a significant amount of points off the board and allowed them to pull ahead at the end. Should be a great game Monday.

That, and Bruce gets to drown his sorrows in a 40-ounce porterhouse and a half bottle of Atorvastatin. Good night.

Guess they gave the Wooden Award to the wrong player! ;)
Clayton is only the second player to have back to back 30+ points in the Elite Eight/Final Four; the other is some guy from Indiana State ? Rare Air.
