Historically, SEC teams have allotted the visiting team 9,000 - 10,000 seats. But in other conferences where (1) fan bases don't travel as well in the first place, and (2) the schools are more geographically spread out, making travel harder for even rabid fans, the allotments are lower. For example, the Big 10 + 2 allots only 5,000 seats to visitors, which is what made last year's Penn State ticket such a tough one for Bama fans.

So does anybody know what the Big 12-2 allotted for visitors? I'm guessing aTm and Mizzou will go with the SEC's 10,000, but if they're used to fewer visitor tickets, that means they'll have to re-jigger their own versions of Tide Pride to deal with fewer seats for the home folks.

I think I read recently where the minimum is 6000. Mizzou was trying to adjust (not used to that many visitors). It shouldn't be a big problem for them...they rarely sell-out.

Yeah the SEC min is 6,000 but schools are free to exchange more. We exchange 10,000 with Auburn and 9,000 with Tennessee, but LSU refused to a larger allotment when we expanded.

The Missouri people will not know what to think when The Bama folks come pulling up on all those motor homes. I am sure a lot of Bama fans will get some of the Missouri tickets. There should be a lot of crimson in that stadium October 13th 2012.
