NFL Sunday Ticket on Comcast or similar?

Does Comcast offer some sort of NFL Sunday Tickiet and/or the same thing for College football. Not worried about get Bama games due to getting all of them exept or PPV and I normally buy them anyway....

Any advice will be appreciated.......

I know someone (direct TV) has exclusive rights to "NFL SUnday Ticket" but does comcast offer something similar? Bamnut said they do, but you basically said they dont.....what gives? haha

yep, Comcast offers every sport BUT the NFL. They have the NFL network, but not an NFL sports package. That sucks!

NO type of College Football package...

They do have an NFL package though but it has not been relreased for this year yet. She did not even know the cost of it. said it would probably be either $99.95, %129.95 or $179.95 !!! I thought that was a a big range. Why not just tell me somwhere between one dollare and $10,000. About the same.....


At least they do offer some type of package though...

You talk about the NFL network, what would be the difference to you in the NFL netwrk and a NFL package? She told me it would come in on my box in the 700's somwhere. I told her i didnt even have those channels and she said would once i subscribed to it....

i've been down on comcast for a while, however, my wife and i purchased a new house last june and we're still only paying $40 for cable tv and internet.

The NFL Network is a channel dedicated to NFL only. They show highlights, various games from the past, training camps, etc. and it is a VERY cool channel. It is NOT, however, the same as having the NFL ticket. The NFL network doesn't show any live games.....they keep a rolling scoreboard going that is very detailed with stats all day on Sunday, but no live games. I have the Comcast digital, and it comes with it at no charge. You won't get it on basic cable, however.

The NFL Network is a channel that is nothing but the NFL. It's not a package that carries all the games or anything. It's really worth it's price during the off season though. Watching the camps and the combines was so awesome this past year. They had complete coverage of all the guys there. Also...I liked their coverage of the Draft better than ESPN's. Overall...it's a really cool channel and an NFL lover's dream come true.

The NFL Network will only give you 8 regular season games, which they are doing for the first time this year. Other than that, they show every preseason game that is not nationally televised. Most of those are on tape delay, but as many as possible are live. NFL Network on Demand just gives you highlight packages of each game on Monday.

This is nothing at all like the real NFL package on DirecTV, which allows you to see every regular season game live.

Actually, the NFL Network will be showing games this season. They are starting with the 3rd Thanksgiving game that has been added this season - Denver at Kansas City. Overall, they will show 8 regular season games, most of them being on a Thursday:

12/7: Cleveland at Pittsburgh
12/14: San Fran vs. Seattle
12/16: Dallas at Atlanta

I will not be surprised if, one day, you will be required to pay for a premium cable package in order to watch even one stinking local game.

Ok, I called them back. Bamanut is correct, which he already knew, haha. I do have Digital service BUT the NFL channel is not available in the Dothan area yet. My cable comes out of Panama City and they just told me that when they upgraded the channels, Dothan did not have enough bandwidth for the NFL Network channels and probably a couple more I would like. I told them to do away with a couple of the 19 MTV channels or some of these Starz channels that come free with Digital Basic. I have the DIgital Basic (i guess) plus all the HBO's.

What she did tell me was the last girl was confused. A satalite company has exclusive rights to NFL SUnday ticket so they DO NOT offer any type of MFL package. What they do offer is ESPN Gameplan. she said she thought it was comprable to the price of baseball which was 179.95. So, i know i would love to have NFL Sunday ticket but I dont know if I would want the Gameplan or not cause the biggest games are already on TV nationally..

This is another example of why I am happy to not have to deal with a cable company. The customer service people rarely know what they are talking about. The early subscription price for GamePlan on DirecTV is $109. I can't imagine that Comcast plans to charge anywhere near $179.95 for the same thing.

Good point. I forgot how vicious the NFL gets when it comes to television rights.

Also, if it werent for the high speed internet that i get with comcast, I would swap to satallite, not doubt about it. Although "on Demand" that Comcast came out with is very good and i fyou have it you know what i mean...

Because DirecTV paid A LOT of money for exclusive rights to the NFL.
