I guess it is coming very apparent that the nation is getting really tired of the dominance by the SEC. I mean since UF(uhh) started the trend in 06 I never seen so many people wanting the sec to stumble. All i've been hearing is texas is the most complete team, Boise Cincy and TCU deserve a shot, andSEC refs are helping out bama and florida.

1st argument : Texas is the most complete team. Texas has some key offensive players that can light up the field agianst a pretty good defense and they have two heisman canidates, but bama and florida don't have pretty good defenses they have great defenses. Everyone in the country wants to look at their high scoring wins over UCF mizzou and okie state. But I look at the Oklahoma game and I guarantee if Bradford didnt get taken out we wouldnt be having a texas discussion.

2nd Argument:BCS busters need to play in pasadena. Yeah BSU and Cincy are better than average teams and deserve a little more respect than they are getting, but until they man up and take a bigger chance than Oregon they shouldnt even be yappin how the system is flawed. Everyone wants to say Cincy has a chance on the two SEC schools cause their offense is good... ok what about UF and UA 's offense agianst their non existent D I guarantee bama and florida would win the shootout by atleast 17 cause their is no way you can tell me that they are going to score on us every time.

3rd argument: the refs. yes there has been some pretty bad calls in games with undefeated teams in the SEC. my high school coach always said "Good teams found adversity when the game was on the line, and great teams found ways to win through that adversity." I think this statement holds true through all the calls.
A. LSU @ UGA the celebration penalty was bad but why did UGA let trendon Holiday and Charles Scott beat on the ensuing drive.
B. ARKIE @ UF the unnecessary roughness call was bad but why cant arkie hit their fg before and most of all why did they let tebow drive it 40 yards after the missed it.
C. LSU @ UA the interception I dont know i've been hearing different things but we were on their 40 and it was 2nd down after the incompletion and were only up 6 they let Ingram run wild on that drive and allowed tiffen a game winning fg.

I jut don't get why people are making these arguments and why ticked off SEC fans are pulling agianst them in the BCSNCG this year.

So what you are saying, referencing the officials, is that if you execute each play, play to the very best of your ability each play, focus and finish on each play, play smart on each play, play with integrity and character, and take advantage of the opportunities presented that you can overcome that adversity.

Sounds like a good gameplan for life.

Someone on another thread the other day presented SEC overexposure and advanced technology as reasons for the backlash towards the growing anti-SEC sentiment.

BTW, the Gameday opening last Saturday at the AFA was spinetingling. And thanks for your service.

I could honestly care less what anyone thinks of the SEC, I think its pretty clear that the SEC is the best conference out there. The Big 10 has become a bit of a joke, I mean Iowa couldn't beat Northwestern.

No one has said that an undefeated SEC team shouldn't be in the game. That is to say, no credible person...
I was watchin sports reporters and everyone was saying that Texas would pretty much wipe the field with UF and UA and one guy said that Cincy even with their back up QB could match up with both SEC teams and he contiued saying especially alabama.

I watched it too, and they all agreed that Texas looked like the most rounded team right now. I watch that show every week and they had Bama as the most rounded team in the country for about a month. Their opinion slipped as the play of Tebow and GMac slipped.

They did not say that Texas would beat either FL or Bama, just that they were playing better right now. They never suggested that the SEC didn't belong in the BCSCG.

I think that you are just being a little too sensitive. Peace... :cheers2:

probably a little bit since i am surrounded by SEC and fla bama haters here in Omaha. Well its whatever I'm just tired of all the down play and conspiracy talk and how if the SEC wins the national championship that it is tainted and a BCS buster should petition for the NC. but RTR

And they might well be playing better, but how do you think Texas would do if they were playing in the SEC? I think they would do pretty well, not sure if they would do as well though as they do in the Big 12. Maybe we can swap Arkansas for Texas and find out.

Like I said, they didn't say that Texas was the better team, just that they were playing better. You have to admit, their defensive numbers look impressive. But they will lose in the BCSCG because they cannot run the ball...

Quite franky, IMO, majority above the MD Line consider SEC to be populated by/a bunch of hicks..ergo, lack of respect. Must say, again IMO, some of our never been there - never done it fans reenforce that perception. The closest majority of cyberspace warriors have been to BD is to maybe pick up butts post game. Wise up...and don't perpetuate the image... Roooooooll Tide!

Actually, I don't see any anti-SEC bias at all this year. Texas is a good team and MAY be a more complete team than either us or Florida as they have a better defense than Florida (but below ours) and a better offense than us (but below Florida's).

Additionally, the SEC at one point had 4 of the top 10 teams and I think 8 or more in the Top 25. We've got 3 teams in the top 10 right now... and considering the #4 team in the SEC (according to record) is Auburn at 5-4, that's a pretty good thing.

I haven't seen one single person since about week 2 who hasn't noted that the winner of the SEC Championship is going to play for the BCS Championship. More and more folks have talked about the SEC as playing at a different level than the rest of the nation and MANY have said that a 1-loss SEC Champ deserves the BCSCG more than an undefeated TCU, Boise or Cincinnati. In fact, I believe that if Texas were to lose (especially big) to either Texas A&M or in the Big 12 game AND the SECCG were decided by 1-2 points you COULD see a SEC rematch in the BCSCG.

I live in Pennsylvania, and I don't get that at all. Most people here are very impressed with Alabama and southern football in general.
