Lashley was lobbying (along with ACC commissioner Jim Phillips) that SMU losing didn’t matter, no matter the score. SMU should not drop.

It should. Under those circumstances, SMU would have played 2 ranked teams all year, ranked 17th and 18th, and lost to both of them. How then can you possibly say they’re one of the 12 best teams?
