Also the final trumpet blows for David Stern, probably the second best commissioner in the history of American sports (behind, of course, Pete Rozelle).

Although not nationally known. He was a Alabama Football and Baseball player. Also a great guy!

Mr. David Reeves was born November 24, 1958 in Houston County to the late Billy Hillman and Annie Laurie Collins Reeves. David was a 1977 graduate of Dothan High School where he excelled in sports. He received a football scholarship to the University of Alabama and was a member of the 1978 and 1979 National Championship teams under Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. He also played baseball at the University of Alabama and was elected team captain his senior year.

Conrad Fowler, TE at Bama in the 1960's and retired judge from Shelby County...died Monday after suffering a stroke. He had been dealing with some pretty debilitating illnesses for a while. He was the best friend of my brother in law, Jack McKewen, an OL from that period as well. I was able to get to know him pretty well...great guy.

Everyone knows this but got to mention Kobe Bryant. He passed in January of this year which now seems like forever ago because it was pre Covid.
