look i never said he wasn't flying or doing well just that some people didn't believe it. And that in a few years we will all see @ the combine about these times. The surface you run on and the conditions do matter. Also he isn't 230 like he has on his profile he was i believe 215 which is still incredible for him. But we all see when the college players who pay for professional trainers, speed coaches, and spend 24/7 for months at a time training don't run that fast at the combine.

Regardless of the surface and any other conditions.......he was the quickest player on the field. :cool2:

In regards to Mitchel he was fast and had a great workout, but his film is not that impressive. One thing to a workout warrior, another to have it translate to the game.

Just to make a note for the record, I am highly suspicious of many of the numbers that were posted during this thing. Lots of those raw numbers are just far too excessive to get a presumption of legitimacy. I think it's relatively clear that event promoters played around a bit to build up hype for themselves and their event.

I noticed they said the timer starts when the runner made "the first move". I wonder if NFL combine times are done with a gun, and then the runner has to react to the sound. That would certainly explain the time discrepancy.

They're not. The runners have to get set in a certain position and once they do they're allowed to take off, which is when the timer starts. I believe it only starts once they're out of the blocks however, not necessarily on "the first move."

Thanks for the link. I have not seen any highlight video on Demarcus Walker but now that I have I want this kid bad. Big, physical and fast. Seems very interested in us and hope to get his comittment soon.

I have personally ran with the laser timers and when i did it there was a laser at the start line, a laser every ten yards, and a laser at the end. Hope this helps. The times are perfectly exact unless it is fat fingered when notated Also with the lasers every ten yards you can get a feel for their acceleration and take off ability.

I've never seen the vertical jump measured like they did it. I think D. Henry was measured at like 41 inches or so, and it didn't look to me like he was that high off the ground at all. My first thought was hype and numbers inflation.
