Sad, sad news. I don't know any details. I do know children are not suppose to die before parents.

Some may know Paul and may want to sign the online guest book or send a card or note.

I've never met Paul. His older brother, Louis & I were graduated from Vigor, in '58. Paul played for Coach Bryant as center and linebacker. He lettered in '63, '64, & '65. Thus, he was on 2 national championship teams and earned All-SEC & All-American honors.

He was an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets. Since the beginning of his Jets career coincided with Joe Namath, perhaps, Joe told them about Paul. He was with the Jets in SuperBowl III. The historic game that led to the merger of the AFL with the NFL.

After his pro career, Paul became an assistant for Coach Bryant from 1974-'77.

How horrible to have to bury a child on Christmas Eve. Not that there's ever a good time, but Christmas Eve is a time of joy and anticipation. God bless the Crane family.
