Offcial PostGame Thread - Bama vs. Clemson...

Shaun Alexander under Drake's left arm?

Man...looking at Drakes face in that image you can just see determination and emotion..to think what was going through that young mans mind at that moment with the injuries he has sustained...well I think it speaks to itself. This may be my favorite moment/play of the year. I am really happy for Drake and hope he gets a chance in the NFL.

Their offense scored more than anybody this year. Was that personnel or scheme? If it was shceme is that the most undefendable scheme in college football now, or does it just give Bamas defense problems.

I don't think it was as much scheme as it was Watson. He just kept extending plays.

Yep we actually blew up a bunch of plays, but Watson would scramble out and find a receiver who had broken off his route then throw a laser beam pass on the run. It was infuriating. Their offense survived solely off that for most of the game.

That said, the kid had the game of his life and still came up short.

Even Kannell is praising Bama and Saban this morning. He sounds sincere about it.

Only because it's suicide to bad mouth a bunch of kids who just won a championship the morning after. Make no mistake, it eats him up inside and he's just waiting for the next opportunity to trash Bama. I get a lot of joy from knowing that he lost at least a little money on this game.

and the ball is high and tight. he wasn't going to let cochran knock it loose ;)

I just read over on a Longhorn site that every player Nick Saban has signed has won at least one NC. I guess I ought to edit that to everyone who stayed at Bama won one.

Watson just doesn't give Bama problems; he gives everyone fits. I'm a little tired of the narrative that Bama is the only school that can't defend against an All American QB. He played the game of his life and almost beat a great team but without him, Clemson is 9-3 or so.

everyone said that to beat bama, watson would have to play out of his mind. he set championship game yardage records and played impressively, pretty much playing out of his mind. it still wasn't enough. and bama impressed the hell out of me by winning.

If that. Without dissing Coker, what if we swapped QBs, and our playbook went back to the one we had with Sims...

That was the best national championship game I think I have ever watched.

BOTH teams played with all they had and the outcome wasn't really determined until very late in the game.

Congratulations to Bama on a very hard fought and well deserved victory!

See you next season in Atlanta! :)

100% agree. Clemson was undefeated this year so obviously there wasn't anyone else who could stop him. It's not just an Alabama problem. Tebow, Manziel, Newton, Watson etc will give any defense fits. I bet the winning percentage for those 4 QBs combined is upwards of 90%. It isn't just an Alabama problem..

What a game!

I think I've recovered.

That was a HEART STOPPER! I am amazed that we won the game with the kind of game Mr. Watson played.

So, to take off from another thread, the Crimson Tide (singular) played with a singular focus. The Tide played as ONE and WON!

I'm going to be working on a kind of DEFENSE in the off season to focus on keeping ONE player from making 11 look bad! Then, I will sell it or give it to Coach Saban. I did notice that the cameras were not focusing on Coach Smart like in prior games. Did he overwork those guys in preparation for the game?

Michigan State fan on Reddit: "I love that Bama can just whip out a dude who hasn't scored in 2 years and he's one of the fastest TEs I've ever seen." LOL

I just watched Clemson's post game press conference and Watson talked about what he and Henry spoke about after the game. Watson said that he's going to link up with Henry during the offseason to train and learn from Henry. Watson said that Henry won a heisman and a national championship and that's what he was trying to do so he wanted to learn and work with somebody who had that success..
