TUSCALOOSA, AL –
The Alabama offense used 12 hits and seven walks to post 10 runs in the Crimson Tide's 10-1 win over Samford on Tuesday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the midweek victory, UA improves to 18-12 on the season.

The Crimson Tide scored four runs apiece in both the fourth and fifth innings while adding two in the sixth to cruise to the 10-1 win. Alabama was led at the plate by William Hamiter and Bryce Eblin. Hamiter finished 2-for-4, including his first home run of the season, to go with a team-high four RBI and two runs scored. Eblin paced the Tide with three hits as part of a 3-for-4 night that included an RBI, a walk and a pair of runs to match Hamiter.

Ben Hess was solid in his fifth start of the season for the Crimson Tide, working 3.1 scoreless innings and allowing four hits and a walk to go with three strikeouts. Braylon Myers (1-0) was first out of the bullpen, logging 1.1 innings for his first career win. The freshman allowed one unearned run on one hit with a strikeout. Myers was followed by Jake Leger, Luke Holman and Brayden Gainey with the trio combining for six strikeouts and a walk while holding the Bulldogs scoreless and hitless over the final 4.1 frames.

From Assistant Coach Jason Jackson
"We've had a couple of Tuesdays where we didn't play well, so it's nice to get back-to-back midweek wins. We really got a good start from Ben (Hess), and he continues to get better each week. We got a lot of the young guys in the game, including Luke Holman and Braylon Myers. Braylon came in in a tight spot and got us out of a jam. We put up some early zeroes on the mound and that gave us a chance to swing the bats a little bit. We've scored double-digit runs in two of our last three games, and we have won five of our last six, so it's starting to come together a bit for us."

How It Happened
  • B4 | Bryce Eblin got the rally started with a one-out single. The Tide second baseman then moved into scoring position on a wild pitch and came home in that same at-bat thanks to a single to center by William Hamiter. After a two-out walk to Tommy Seidl, Drew Williamson sent a 1-1 pitch to center to score Hamiter and move Seidl to third. A second wild pitch in the inning allowed Williamson to advance to second and put the pair in scoring position. Andrew Pinckney took advantage of the run-scoring opportunity, sending the first pitch he saw to the corner in right to plate the pair. (4-0, Alabama)
  • T5 | A two-out RBI single got the Bulldogs on the board. (4-1, Alabama)
  • B5 | Jim Jarvis reached on a fielding error to start the inning with Eblin singling to right in the next at-bat. Zane Denton followed, with the junior doubling down the line in right to cross Jarvis and advance Eblin to third. Hamiter then cleared the bases with a three-run homer over the wall in right-center for his first roundtripper of the season. (8-1, Alabama)
  • B6 | Will Portera led off the inning with a single through the left side. Pinch-hitter Caden Rose followed with a single to right to put runners on the corners. Eblin then registered his third hit of the night, sending a 2-1 pitch to left to score Portera and advance Rose to third. Camden Hayslip then added to the Tide lead with a sacrifice fly. (10-1, Alabama)
