Why are we so afraid to throw the ball downfield? Ole Miss has the worst pass defense in the SEC. Let's make them pay for it.
I refuse to understand why the best player in college football has less than 10 touches. It feels like we are trying to outsmart ourselves. Come out in the second half, be physical, assert ourselves, and let's play big boy football!!
Anyone have 1st half stats? I know we had a lot more offensive plays than Ole Miss, but that's about it.
Before that one 3rd down conversion on Ole Miss FG drive they hadn't converted a 3rd down all night. I think ESPN had them at 0-8. Then again, I think they converted one close to midfield before getting backed up on penalty. :conf3:
Regardless the D has played well tonight. Just wish we could put together a 60-minute game on both sides of the ball. Haven't done that yet.

Opposing D's are essentially spying MI whenever he is in. OM has been putting at least 8 in the box with MI in there. Without a mobile QB or a downfield passing attack, opposing teams can sit on our running game, which is why it is essential we pass the ball effectively against them to open it up for MI and TR.
One more TD by Bama puts this one away.

Our offense seems to be out of sync, we're getting beat at the LOS and GMac still seems to have a hard time finding any open receivers, really discouraging. At least the D looks a lot better.
Is it me, or did we go through this same problem on offense the exact same time on the schedule as last season?

Actually I remember the Ole Miss game being very similar except Mark did break one for a TD on a 4th and short. Other than that it was all FG's. Hope we get some TD's in 2nd half!
Bingo. Plus, if some throws were either caught or better thrown so they could be caught could open up some space for MI and TR. Plus, our O-line isn't the 2008 line - we can't just destroy people off the line anymore. Finally, Fluker isn't playing.
There have been times as well that I think our RBs were dancing tonight instead of just hitting the hole.
yeah, but.... last year we could count on the defense to bail us out.... now?...
Our O really needs to step up and be the team they are capable of being.
