It's not just a matter of physical drainage. Mental drainage plays a big role as well.

Most of these guys on offense were there last year and know what it takes, mentally and physically, to win football games. That is why they should have built on the experiences they had last year and be a better unit.

I've wanted to use the 'recharge' excuse myself...but then I realize barney hasn't had a week off either and their offense is just sick. Ugh.

I mentioned that to a guy at work and he agreed, but also said Auburn hasn't played teams coming off bye weeks. Either way, I agree. Alabama doesn't look like it can hang, conditioning wise, with Auburn at this point. Not sure if that's a mental/confidence thing, or something else.

At least ESPN won't be back in the locker room anytime soon. I think it created a rock star mentality and hurt leadership development

I think the problem with this team is primarily mental in nature--it can't be talent or coaching. We seem to have lost the killer instinct and hunger--it's almost like our players seem like they are on cruise control out there on the field sometimes and just going through the motions. Of course, I could be wrong, but since the Duke game we simply have not been the same team.

I think the play calling could be better but besides that I agree with you on everything.

Yea I reminded everyone of that last week. Fatigue cannot be used as an excuse for our woes on O.

Trent all but confirmed this earlier this week in an interview on WJOX in Birmingham. He said that the team had forgotten HOW to win. He explained that they had sort of become robots, and forgot how to do the small and attention to detail that goes into winning.

Million dollar question. How do you change that?
