**OFFICIAL** Bama vs LSU Post Game Thread

Best friggin' game I've seen in a long time, close exiting games like that beat runaways any day of the week. I think the whole country saw that Bama is back and you fellers should be mighty proud. Bama just jumped on LSU's interception mistakes and posted some serious points that rocked LSU back on its heels. Damned if I can understand why LSU special teams coach Brad Peveto kept kicking to Arenas, it was obvious that he was getting good returns and was dangerous.

I figure Bama wins out from here, finishes ranked in the top-25, and goes to a major bowl. Congratulations on an impressive game and I'd appreciate seeing you give Agbarn a proper butt-whipping.

I think my 95 year old grandma who has one good eye could have made better calls than the panzies that called this game! Congrats to LSU but the NCAA needs to do something about the poor officiating.
Well, LSU got over 130 yards in penalties, so the officials were not really favoring anybody.

But if he has CONTROL of the ball before it hits the ground, and doesnt lose it when it hits, then how can it be incomplete?
The question had to be about that control of the ball and if he didn't use the ground to trap the ball. The replay showed that the ball was definitely on the ground, just a judgement call on the control. In slo-mo, it looked like he may have had it, but in real time it looked like he didn't. LSU lost one of those reviewed catches too. I think I like the video review system, but it can be a downer when a reversal is made.

man do I ever agree with you Red, it was a great game and everything I had hoped for (other than a win of course LOL).

Re: Caddell's Catch?

I thought Caddell's catch could have gone either way; it was that close. But, the point of the ball did hit the ground first. Not what many want to hear it, but replay proves it.

I saw the same thing on the replay. Before the replay it looked like a no doubt about it catch, but the end of the ball hit the ground first. I think our guys played lights out, and the scoreboard is the only thing that disappointed me. I'm gonna have to find some really dark shades in the future.

definitely, a catch. no way can replay determine enough evidence to reverse the call. both hands under the ball on the carpet, and never lost possession. offense had their hands full with a depleted offensive line playing against one of the best. no way running against those guys with our guys. i wonder why upchurch and johns never got a chance. why didnt we put a tight end on the tall def end sometimes to keep him busy. defensively, i kept wondering why their tight end was so open crossing the middle. then i realized we had a freshman at linebacker, and had a lot of trouble in pass coverage. why did we at end of game with about 5 minutes remaining were we running the first two downs with our small backs, and then throwing the bomb. a first down or two would have put our guys in field goal range. why did we play prevent defense when they had the ball for the tying drive. the series before our blitz chewed up and they lost yardage. flynn did not like the pressure. amazing game, and i think the better team won, but, i am so proud of their effort.

Unfortunately, even though LSU wanted to give us the game, we wouldn't take it.

I think we had problems in the punting game. It seems we couldn't punt further than 35 yards.
JPW really had a pretty bad game by his standards.
I think our offensive line was pushing LSU around when we were running in the 4th quarter.
I thought our play calling down the stretch left much to be desired.
I thought it was good to see some youth playing of defense fairly well.
It's easy to get a pass rush when everyone knows you were going to pass.

But, forget all of the above.....

When your QB throws for a 35% completion percentage and has to throw 40 balls while having virtually no running game, and you still have a chance to beat the #3 team at the end, then it can't be that bad.

This game sucked to lose, because after Arenas took it to the house, I was sure we would win.

Great effort by the players. LSU was a great litmus test for this team. I think we see the talent difference in some areas. But we'll get there.

I'm just confused about why we tried to run with smaller backs tonight. Grant was getting knocked down when an LSU defender looked at him and Lowe didn't have much better success. Yet we never tried Upchurch nor Johns. Bot are much bigger backs.

I also have noticed that JPW throws a much better ball over the middle than he does on outs and anything where his ball is traveling lateral. We had on three occasions (two the announcers pointed out) where Keith Brown was running down the middle of the field WIDE OPEN and JPW never once looked. He took the snap and his head went direct to the right side of the field.

I'll have to say, that I did not expect to see Bama fair so well against this LSU team. Every time I saw the tigers play this year it made me dread todays match up even more. But WOW, what a great game. I am amazed at how good JPW has looked the last two games. I thought the te:BigA:m showed much he:BigA:rt, much determin:BigA:tion and played a great game against a powerhouse LSU team. It would have been nice to have had Coffee to open up the run a little more. But then again, they seem to have had our number on the run plays. Saban seems to know how to find the heartbeat of the te:BigA:m and get them pumping. There's no doubt that if the tide plays as well against state and the aubums, we finish with a very good se:BigA:son. I'm so looking forward to the next few seasons. It's time for the Tide to be THE dominant SEC te:BigA:m again! ROLL TIDE!

Did anyone see the fsu "catch" the replay official called a td? How you can call that a td and have Cadells catch overturned is beyond me. I think they need to put a big sign up in the replay booth that it has to be irrefutable evidence. How many replays went against us???All of em? Did it seem like every time we had a big play that if it was close it was reviewed? We all know that was a fumble SC caused and we all know that was a catch that Cadell caught. Pathetic.

That being said..man what a great game! Bama played awesome and are starting to realize how good they can be.

How close is Dj to the all time SEC receiving record now?

Les Miles = Homer..4 and 2" ..hahahahahahahaha

Please tell me when we've bowed up and knocked somebody off the line to make a couple of yards. Not since Fran.

So your gonna sit there and tell me that glen coffee and terry grant (who broke Shaun Alexander freshman Touchdown record last week by the way) cant run the football?

I noticed Coach pitching a fit on the sideline after the bomb throw on 3rd and 5. I was watching where I didn't have TIVO and just got in and went back and watched it and now I see why...

If anyone has it taped its at about the 5:10 mark of the 4th - when it was 3rd and 5 and JPW threw the bomb. You can't see it until the ball comes out of his hand and the camera starts panning down the field... but he had a receiver in the left flat that had a good 5 yard separation and was past the first down mark with lots of room to run.

Not only that receiver but if you watch the running back, he checks blitz pick ups and then slips through the line and out in the right flat WIDE OPEN, nobody within 15 yards of him - he would have easily ran down to the LSU 25/30 before anybody touched him.

That's what he was ....ed about. That would have been 1st down with 5:00 to go and the clock rolling - wouldn't have had to snap until 4:30 with 4 downs to run clock and get another first down or kick field goal to seal the deal.

I originally thought the 4th down play they made to Doucet was where we lost it, but the sequence here did us in.

JPW has guts though!

Roll tide!

What did he say about it????

Not a bad game... Very well played by Bama but ive pretty much had it with these arrogant LSU fans. All you hear is excuses from them... I mean what gives? are they just scared to see that Bama is now reloading and will be right there with them talent wise in the near future? or is 60% of their fan base just composed of morons?
