This may be a crazy question, but is it possible that it is in Milroe's LANK/NIL deal that he is the starter and can only lose his job for conduct detrimental to the team, or injury? I have seen similar language in other NIL deals.
Even if it’s not, the OL made it perfectly clear they weren’t going to block for anyone else in the USF game last year.

im just preparing you for the excuses and “well buts” that the Milroe fans are going to be telling every Alabama fan from here on out. I’m sure we will hear about another injury and how Sheridan never ran an offense suited for him before it’s over too.
I think the days of the excuses for Milroe are finally over.....thankfully.

The sad thing is we don’t even need “spectacular” or “unstoppable” at the QB position. We literally just need “Jake Coker”. If Ty is not as good as Coker, I’ll eat my hat.
I think he has at least an AJ McCarron type of arm but with a much quicker release and the toughness of Jake and the escapability of a Manziel/Bryce type player.

So I think at worst he'd be a Very Good QB with some experience under his belt.

As I was watching tOSU and Indiana yesterday (with the sound off - can’t stand Klatt and Gus) there has been one thing this season about tOSU that has impressed me. They are a fundamentally “sound” football team in all facets of the game. To me, they aren’t a spectacularly impressive team. They just do the things that win. Howard at QB “does his job” without much fanfare. Same holds true for most of the other positions. Yeah, they spent a ton buying portal plays. But give Day credit for making that hodgepodge “cohesive”.

As @colbysullivan stated earlier, some how the past two years we come to think that JM has to be “the straw that stirs the drink” on offense. And JM knows that, and has leveraged it to the point where he isn’t coming off the field.

8 and 3 , the day after. Tell us how you really feel now that you slept on it. For me, I pretty much feel the same way. It’s not that we lost, it was how unprepared and unmotivated the team looked with all their goals still on the table except an undefeated season. That keeps sticking with me. if you go back and look at this board, there was very little talk about the OU game, I seems the fans were caught up in SEC championship scenarios or the CFBP . I often wonder if the same things that have us distracted , has the players distracted. Reason I say that was the last game we didn’t talk about much was the Vandy game. The players aren’t keeping the main thing, the main thing. CKD said the team had a good week of practice with good energy. What happened between then and game time? Even with a week to prepare, OU should never control the Game like they did.
Here's the cold hard truth, the golden age of Bama football is over. We'll never see another 15 year run like Saban had ever again, at Bama or anywhere else. We'll be better than what will probably be an 8-4 team this season but the dominant football is over. We'll be a consistent 10 win team with the occasional 9 win season. But what we were used to is over. There's not a coach out there including Kirby who can replicate what Saban did. Saban retired because he got to the point he couldn't. But the inconsistent up and down jekyll and Hyde clown show of this season has got to stop or we will be 8-4 every year.

As bad as Golding was, we should have won titles in 2021 and 2022. Injuries cost us titles in both of those years. I’m not saying Golding is blameless, but Milroe is hands down the single biggest reason we didn’t win titles the last two years.
A strong offense masked alot of Golding's issues.............i.e. 2020
