Jr. cares about UAB apparently about as much Rodriguez cares about Alabama. Make no question, he could care less about our best interest.

As for Fisher, if Alabama were to want Fisher, I have no doubt that Jr. would squash it and that Alabama would get him if they wanted, BUT, how would it look even if there were an appearance of Alabama competing with UAB for a head coach? That alone might be enough to make Alabama folks not go after him. A guy that said he wanted to coach UAB becoming Alabama's coach? That would not be good for the perception nationally either.

Well maybe, just maybe, Jr. should have spent more time on the Rodriguez deal instead of meeting with our president and blocking hirings and firings. Would be in both of our best interests if he just backed off of UAB and focused more on his own school. This got pretty big press on WJOX, so if anyone believes I'm making it up, just say so and I'll supply the audio.

I don't care about UAB, Bryant Jr's meddling, or other Southside conspiracies. This thread is supposed to be about Jimbo Fisher. If he's hired at UAB, they should be very pleased. If he's hired at Alabama, I'll be very pleased. Leave the UAB garbage on whatever message board the 3 passionate UAB fans frequent.

How would it look? Well gee...I dunno. How would it look if Fisher had a choice between Bama and UAB and he immediately signed with Bama (which is most likely).

We may be down, but UAB doesnt want to compete with us yet.

If...Mal decided he had to modify his criteria a bit, what do you guys think the odds might be that we would go after Jimbo? Has he ever expressed any interest in Bama? How do you thihnk he would do here at Bama? Is he able to take the heat that he would get from the expectations we have here? Could he win consistantly here?

Or would he be better off starting out at one of the smaller schools like UAB?

I have news for you. There would be no competition. Jimbo has a goal to be a head coach. If he has to start at UAB before moving up, then so be it. If offered by UA, there would be no "competition."

Btw...I just looked at Jimbo Fisher's page at the LSU website. I dont know if you guys realized it but you can actually email him from that page. I did and admit I shamelessly begged him to be our next head coach. Of course i promised him the moon. :wink: Some feel our admin cant get it right. Maybe a grassroots campaign is called for.

Here's the link to Fisher's bio as well as the link to email the man. You can tell him how much you want him here and why he should come.

Who knows...he might actually read the letters.

You think thats going to happen? They'll hire some coach is 3 games over 500 for his carrer and try telling us what a "proven winner" he is.

I had heard that he would have come with Saban. I've read some articles about him in the last few weeks and he does not seem to see eye to eye with Miles. Some have projected him as the next HC at WV had RR left.

I heard similar things. So...if Saban wont come and RR wont leave WV, could we see Jimbo wearing a crimson shirt and prowling our sidelines?

How likely is it that Mal would listen to the fan base and go after the guy?
