***OFFICIAL*** MTSU vs BAMA GAME DAY THREAD: Bama 26 and MTSU 7

Inquiring minds want to know ...

Although Eli gave his usual pre-game fashion report on the teams, those of us who were NOT watching on pay-per-view would like to know:

(a) did Andy-boy wear another of those stupid sweatsuits; and,
(b) how long did the top last before he yanked it off and threw it in disgust?

Hope you get back in your house complete with all the comforts. I know you just got in the house before the storm. Sometimes life just doesn't seem fair.
Hey, it was a great two months in paradise! We'll get there again. We're insured up to our eyeballs and we have friends and family to help us. We feel fortunate to have anything at all...so many lost absolutely everything.

It was great to be able to listen to the game tonight. Sometimes you just have to stop thinking about how much things su*k and focus on Alabama Football!!!

Roll Tide Y'all...

Bama 26 and MTSU 7 Roll Tide!

Bama rushed for 101 yards in the 2nd half and MTSU rushed for 2 yards. :eek2:

Bama has some work to do but a win is a win.

hats off to Tidefans site

The site is working like greased lightning. Smooth as butter, no problem logging in during the game. That didn't happen by accident. Good job Bamanation.

Vertical.....

Where in NH are you from? I'm up here in the Northeast now too....in MA. Just moved back up here from T-town in May.

See, I told you that we agreed on a few things. I just posted the same thing on another thread!!!

Listening to the post game interview of Brodie he said he is taking the O-line to Outback Steakhouse this week. Apparently he promised them before the game if they protected him well and he didn't get sacked he would take them out for steak. :)

Good first win. I'm a little worried about the OL with regards to run-blocking, but I thought they did a pretty good job with protection tonight for the most part (only Capps getting blown by late in the game and nearly getting JPW killed really comes to mind).

Defense played great with the exception of that single drive in which we blew a couple of assignments and Madison ended up having to cover two people on the TD. Greenwood really impressed me with his strength and physicality on the line of scrimmage, also showed good quickness. Our run defense early in the game had me concerned, but we really stepped it up after intermission.

Prothro is going to have some nice returns for us this year on both kickoffs and punts. The block in the back call on Dukes that negated the long PR was a joke of a call.

Coffee looked good, as did Johns in garbage time. The Castille-McClain backfield is still very effective for us. KD looked good after the break, I felt bad for him not getting a TD on that drive where he basically carried us all the way down the field by himself.

A win is a win and next week will bring us a tougher opponent, but hopefully we will improve between now and then. I see at least a 21 point victory next week against USM. 1 down, 12 to go.

I agree. Last year I really didn't bother logging in during a game, but what a difference in performance this year. Great job w/ the improvements.

Sorry...I meant to quote Chukker's post on the site performance.

This game was pretty much a typical first game for us. We looked good at times and average at others. We had many guys playing their first college game and they are gaining experience that will pay off down the road.

The offense looked rough in the first half but looked to be getting it together in the second half. The only turnover we had was one where I just thought Brodie was trying to get too much however it worked like a great punt. The o-line looked good in pass protection but will need to work on run blocking this week. I also thought Keith Brown looked really good tonight.

The defense was what we expected. Only 1 first down allowed in the second half...that is SOLID. I would have liked to see a turnover or two on defense but that is nitpicking. Jeffrey Dukes is gonna make some big plays for us this year.

Special teams were a couple of mistakes away from an outstanding night. A block in the back 10 yards behind Prothro on the punt return hurt...but we scored a TD on that drive anyways. Also only 10 men in the game on the 40 yard field goal took 3 points off the board for us. I thought the punt game was solid as was the kick coverage. This will end up being a good unit for us.

Overall a win is a win is a win and while it wasn't always pretty it sure is nice to be 1-0. We will be better next week and hopefully we will all witness another Bama win.

just watching the replay...

wow, shula really got onto Capps for the penalty on the field goal attempt that cost us 3 points. i like seeing that intensity out of the coach.

I was pleased with the adjustments at halftime. Both sides of the ball made them. We ran outside of the tackles and if you noticed things like that little screen and the shuffle pass we shut down. I can see Peprah clobbering that guy at the start of the third quarter on that screen.
I bet they are saving the tight end for a big moment, although I dont see a reason not to show it.

Thanks guys. It's taken some effort and expense over the last 6 years to get us to this point but i'm very pleased with how it all works now. All the credit for supporting the site in many different ways over those 6 years goes to all of you.

Thanks again!

RTR!
