Play of the Game probably.
I detest the prevent defense! On the fourth quarter TD drive after we went up by 10, did we go into a prevent type coverage in the secondary?
If we get off the field there this win would have been alot less stressful the last 2 minutes.
I believe we doSo with our win and Oregon’s loss, do we now have the nation’s longest home winning streak?
Yes, and what is our reward? We get another highly ranked team coming in this week and then another challenging road game the week after that. SEC schedules are already so challenging, but the league officials allowed themselves to be bullied into a nine game league schedule starting next year. It's laughable. We beat 3 straight top 20 teams. Two of which on the road. Not an easy task for any team.
I said the same to friends at halftime. We had a 10 point lead, got a stop, and got the ball back with a chance to go up 17. For the next quarter and a half, Mizzou made every big play. They stopped us and got a score before half. I said to friends that we needed to take the second half kickoff and score a TD to retake control. Instead, we fumble and let them tie it up. At that point, it was anyone's game. The guys gutted it out and got the win, and that is the main thing, but we seem to be running on fumes at this point.Had them on the ropes and let them off.
Sack fumble to open the second half allowed them to tie it up.
Defense was very good on third down against the number one converting team in the country though.
Lee dropped a pick, but made up for it.
Look at the bright side:
Defense held Pribula to 167 yards and 2 ints.
Defense held Hardy to 12 carries for 52 yards averaging 4.3 yards.
Lawson had 7 tackles with 5 solo.
Hill-Green has 7 tackles
Jefferson has 6 tackles
Overton 6 tackles
Pierre has 6 tackles
Hubbard has 4 tackles.
That's much better team wide efforts.
Bama made sure Mizzou went 1/10 on 3rd down.
Bama had the ball for 38:33 TOP compared to Mizzou 21:27.
Bad thing: we left 17 points on the board:
