Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama @ USCe...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

What most people will miss is that the reason South Carolina lost this game was by going for two unsuccessfully their first touchdown in the second half. Had they instead kicked the PAT, they would’ve been up nine not eight late in the game and Alabama would’ve had to have tried an onsides kick rather than kick away on the SC possession that led to Sellers’ fumble…

True, but when you remember who their OC is, it makes sense. "Look, we ain't gonna be down here all that often so may as well try for points."

For MOST teams I would say that point in the game was the time to kick the point.
SCAR is one of the teams I'd have done it differently, though.

I "get" your point, but I also think they played it right for their team, too.

Drives:

1 over 4 minutes (7:38 - next to last drive)
2 over 3 minutes (3:19 when we fumbled in 2Q and 3:51 when we turned it over on downs in 3Q)
2 over 2 minutes (2:12 first drive, 2:16 in 2Q on first TD drive)
1 over 1:30 minute (1:40 n 3Q)
the other 5 under 1:30 minutes

avg drive: 2:26

This has to be fixed. Our Defense cannot stay on field that long.

5 of 11 drives were 3 and out
The cold facts are that we have no running game. I think it’s 50/50 between the OL and the RB group. In other words, 50/50 on who is to blame. And Grubb insists on running the ball regardless. Ty has no deep ball. Some of that is on the WR group, but he left several short today.

We are really boxed in on offense. We need to seriously self scout during this bye week. It absolutely couldn’t come at a better time.

FWIW, I'm not superstitious, but I found that when I was standing in the second half, good things happened for Bama. So I stood most of the 4th quarter.

I mean I *am* a little stitious...

You're welcome.

Thank you, standing as well, and swapped hats three times - I know better than start with crimson hat, ended game with proper away white hat

They've got two weeks to figure it out, I can't take much more of this

It would be nice to see runs outside the tackles...we are predominantly running up the middle. Rarely do we put the running backs in space. I think they are talented but being held back with the running scheme tendancies

Every title run almost always requires a gut check against an inferior opponent on the road…

2009: Auburn
2011: msu… kinda
2012: lsu really doesn’t count but okay
2015: Auburn
2017: msu
2020: ole miss

This team could’ve quit like they did against Oklahoma last year or found a way to lose like they did vs lsu in 2022 and end the title run before the end of the regular season when everything was going against them in a gut check game. But they didn’t. Good teams can find ways to lose but great teams find ways to win. I think this team is special and could be the one holding the title at the end. I think we beat lsu pretty bad and I’m feeling more and more confident vs Oklahoma than i did previously. Auburn is still a hard one at their place especially with their defense. But i think this team has the mental toughness to finish it.

I wasn't in my normal seat on the couch. When I was, we went up 14-6. Then I wasn't again until we were about to tie the game. I know better
Those of you who know you did wrong need to get right. I had no idea my standing had a magical influence as it normally doesn't. BUT YOU KNEW!

Do you people not take football seriously???

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Makes sense to me, but TV announcers acting like he was letting him score so they could get the ball back, so who knows

Chris & Tyler didn't mention it either way to my knowledge
jessie kept saying some dumb crap about being game over if he went down or out of bounds. there wer 35 secs or so left and we would have had a fresh set of downs

he's a moron
