Game Thread: OFFICIAL POSTGAME THREAD - Bama v. UMO...

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

LSU will be a much harder out than some think. They suffocated UGA'S offense. Dave Aranda is a very good DC with two or three elite defensive players to work with.

If Tua plays healthy then I have no doubt that we beat them by at least two scores. UGA has been a fraud from the get go.

Defense played their best tonight. I believe the D will continue to get better.
The 4th down conversions concern me. We will need to be able to get a push a get 2 yards if we need it.
Punting..... well I'm just hoping he had a bad night.

Still...we won by 29 and left a lot on the table.

Saw the punter warming at halftime and it was hot garbage. He could not put 2 consistent punts together. He has some serious confidence issues. I am fearful the stage is just too big for him.

The atmosphere at the stadium was fantastic tonight.

What is the latest on Devonta Smith injury?

Gosh, just saw some clips on on ESPN coverage of the game - the play where Tua slid and tweaked his knee, where the refs called him short of the first made my blood pressure rise. Ridiculous.
I thought the same thing, and I just now saw another replay. Tua appeared well past the first down when he slid. Why did we not challenge the spot? It seemed obvious to me he made the first down.

They haven’t played a defense like Bama showed last night. Burrows missed wide open receivers, some for scores, all night.
Bama plays like they did last night they win by 21+ points - LSU offense ain’t better than Missouri’s.

Their QB isn't better than Mizzou's but their receivers certainly are. Even though it was a dominant win there were fortunate bounces that prevented a closer game. There was a good deal of dropped balls that Lock put on the money that his Wrs dropped, and I'm still not sold that our Lbs can cover in passing yet.

I still think with a healthy Tua Bama wins like 48-17

Bama also was uncharacteristically bad in the red zone. Change that one statistic and Bama wins in a blowout - even with Mizzou's top receivers.

I can't help thinking after this week "is this the best College Football has to offer?" Because I don't see a team out there that scares me if Tua is healthy. LSU will tell us really how good we are I suppose but I don't think that game is close if Tua is healthy. We have 4 WRs that you have to cover (one that apparently can run 24mph) and a 3 headed nightmare at RB. Our OL isn't perfect but it's been fantastic in pass pro. Oh and we also have an NFL TE. And our defense is great.

I'm not convinced there is a team in the country that can stay within 20 of us right now.

We were bad in red zone because of Tua’s limitations running. Plus it appeared we were trying things out. That didn’t concern me.

Lock’s job is to throw a catchable ball. If too many WRs are dropping passes that goes back to the QB. That’s a huge Tua’s strength.

D-Man Tua has 2 TDS called back because of bogus Holding calls. Cost us 11 pts. Tua really would have had 5 TDS and 350 yards in first half.

Take back those two bad holding calls there’s no fumble and no early tweak of knee. There is also no “red zone efficiency” discussion.

All in all. I’m extremely happy. They played a great game and I’m happy the injuries weren’t worse. Vince McMahon was scouting Mizzou for talent.
