Well, I won’t go full conspiracy mode, but it makes you wonder at times about how some refs call penalties against Bama........ “almost” like they are trying to slow them down....... “almost”........; )
As for the defense, the communication issues are concerning, but I imagine they will work on them hard this week........ Mizzou isn’t to be taken lightly, and I don’t think Bama will at a. They are questioning their own performance, and I imagine mad at themselves for giving up those plays. I think they do better this week....

Disappointed, upset and surprised to see the defense play so poorly today. They need to get their stuff together soon because Missouri can score points by the bushel. The offense is awesome and that should continue next week. Were there any injuries? Certainly hope nothing serious.

I have a feeling practice will be lively this week................those guys have too much talent to let that happen.

I'd caution this attitude. I think Mizzou will give us some heartburn next week if the defense plays at this level again.
I fear a lot of our fans are going to take it very lightly because they see a 2 in the L column, but they don't understand why those are there. 1) they totally outclassed UGA's defense but receivers kept popping balls up in the air for ints, and 2) yesterday they lost head set communication and had a monsoon on hand that really costed them. I think Mizzou is the best offense we will see on our schedule, and could be the first time Tua sees the 4th quarter.

Missouri can score by the bushel but they give them up by the bushel as well. Next week could be very similar to this week.
What it comes down to is stuffing the run; Bama has done a mediocre to poor job of that so far, but it hasn’t hurt because the forte of this offense is laser shots, not ball control.
I don’t see any defense Bama plays, or will play, that can stop Bama’s offense; I’m not sure, even in the playoffs, that anyone they might face can.
But Bama’s defense will be the deciding factor in how the season ends; anyone who could possibly beat Bama will have to score 40+ points, and Hogs just proved that may not be an impossible task for some playoff teams, and maybe even Georgia.
But Tua and this offense - man. I’ve never seen the like in all my years of following the Tide, and being a defensive minded guy it might be weird I’m enjoying it so much.
As long as Bama wins every game, I don’t care if the score is 10-9 or 100-99.

You may be tickled pink to win 100-99 but not me. I have said for years that the Big 12 does not play football and I still say that. There is nothing I can do about it but I prefer football to some kind of hybrid thingy. I will say this though: I had rather win 100-99 than win 17-16 running the wishbone. I hated the wishbone and still do.

We are basically 2017 Oklahoma with better skill players, and a better than average defense. You better be prepared to score 30-40 to have a chance. Its the biggest reason I don't think LSU has a shot at Bama if we play our A and B games. UGA might be the only team with a legit shot, but they have a harder path to Atlanta and they have more glaring issues than us at the present. Outside the conference probably only tOSU.

Just for the record - I didn’t say I’d be tickled pink, I just said I don’t care. A win is a win and you win em all, you win it all.
I’ll take a win anyway it comes - pretty, ugly or pretty ugly. I didn’t say I’d dance a jig.

Hahaha, oh come on, it would be okay to dance a jig if we won 100-99. :) If we win them all and win the SEC and national titles, I will certainly dance around like a fool. Then, however, I will come here to Tidefans and complain about how the game has changed and our defense is no longer tough. :) Oh, yeah, I'm sure I'll complain a little about targeting and replay, too. Hahaha. Roll Tide!

You are correct and I apologize for implying something you did not say. I did not realize I had done that till you caught me.

Would we feel better if we won the game 41-7 instead of 65-31? Because this offense scoring 65 is not an aberration.

Certainly the defense has issues but for the first time in my life, the Alabama offense can reliably be counted on to deliver.

As long as we stay healthy we are going to crush every team on the schedule. Missouri might score 35, but we will score 77. Who knows about Atlanta and the playoffs, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.

I just realized that as a Bama fan I'm still amazed that every time Tua throws it I'm at the mindset now of how many yards are we gonna get this time lol I love it and we go over the top I'm just trying to see which receiver is going in for the touch down pretty amazing stuff!!!

I think the problem on defense for this group is just the margin of the games is affecting their focus. I realize that we give up plays while the game is still competitive but most of the points given up this season comes in the 4th quarter after the outcome has long been decided. 42 of our 96 given up are in 4th quarter. We are giving up just 9 points per game through the 1st 3 quarters. So I am not going to worry to much about it.......YET.

No worries. Look, nobody likes to see Bama steamroll opponents more than me; I love 21, 35, or 45 to O. But in this day and age, that’s just not realistic week in and week out. Knowing that Bama has a passing attack no one can stop, combined with a deadly running game should they scheme to stop the pass, gives me warm and fuzzies.
I just hope the defense improves, a lot and before the stretch run.

I love our offense. Because of our defensive struggles, our offense will have to stay healthy, especially Tua/Jalen and some key receivers/RB. If Bama has major injuries on offense, I do not feel confident that we will win the SEC Championship. Every time Tua gets the slightest injury (knee yesterday) I get worried!

Well, I'm worried about defense now. I saw the secondary and the front seven both falling for the same misdirection plays in the second half as in the first. I think the ultimate illustration was a safety and a corner both covering the same receiver but getting no closer than five yards...

I imagine Saban started looking at the defense on film on the plane ride home yesterday. I bet the coaches meeting that is probably happening right now will be an interesting one for the defensive coaches.

I think I read that Drew Lock has gone 2 games in a row without throwing a TD? Next week needs to make 3. Glad we play them at home.
