I’m never going to complain about a road win in the SEC, against a talented team that plays a style adverse to our own. Twice this year we got into the mud with this team and beat them both times even in Starkville.
I’m not convinced we’ve lost a step as a team; we several injuries this year and while guys are playing again they are still not yet 100%. The effort and intensity hasn’t dropped. The tournament is going to be about match ups, as always, and hopefully we can draw favorable ones.
I mean seriously, who would have thought we would be SEC regular season champs this year? I felt like they had the potential to be a top 15 team but man ... they have exceeded my expectations for the regular season.
I think it is blatantly obvious we could make the final four or lose in the second round. I am hoping we got the monkey off our back tonight and can start playing loose like the world-beaters we were mid-season.
Can't believe it came down to Rojas hitting the three. MSU big defender was hanging out in the paint while all the other defenders were guarding the three point line. This left the Bama big (Rojas) free outside which is why a Bama big needs to be able to hit the three. Rojas is not a reliable shooter out there but made a big one late in the game when MSU was chipping away.
