Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama vs. UGA...

He was gone before deboer was named.

With a huge NIL. Folks forget that Day was on the hot seat, Michigan just won the national championship, and they were desperate & spending truck loads of cash.
Are we talking about Sayin here? Because I remember hearing about him having a meeting with DeBoer before he hit the portal.

I would really like to know what was said in that meeting.

I know I'm mad because of the loss and the way we lost.......but that 4th and 2 call is really bothering me.

That should have never been the call......from either the OC or the QB audible.....and the throw was the absolute worst possible throw to the lowest percentage receiver.

Make the playoff....don't make the playoff.....all I can think of about this season now is that 4th and 2 atrocity.
I look at 2 situations... the 3rd and 2 when Ty pointed a pass to the RB and the 4th and 2 situation.

On the 3rd and 2 in the first half ... had two downs to get a first down to shift momentum. Instead of running it on 3rd to try to get at least ONE YARD, they decided to go to the flat and then punt. Thinking that should have been the time to go for it to win the momentum and we didn't.

Wasn't mad with the 4th and 2 call in the second half, we actually had it but Ty made a poor choice with trying to force it to Bernard. If he ran it he would have gotten it. The better pass was to Hill in the flat which would have gotten it as well.

CKD said he went for it because he was trying to win the game ... but it felt like he had opportunities in the first half to make the same type of calls and didn't.

Honest question-- Why have we not found a way to get 2 the ball more often? I realize he has had some drops (had a big one tonight), but he is probably the most elusive guy on the field. Find a way to get him the ball in space. Could you imagine what we would look like if Germie had stayed on the West Coast?

Truthfully, I am starting to wonder what we would look like if Grubb had stayed on the West Coast... I like Ty, but he would have been signaling in plays in the late 3rd, at least for a series or two. Somebody has to be able to throw a swing, at least. Outside looking in, he looks rattled. Sure he got some pressure, but he also created some of that pressure. He does not look or play confident, with the exception of the scoring drive, which was sustained by 2 dumb penalties by UGA. I won't even get started on the run game, I give up. Apparently, we cannot find a scheme that our OL, who are bigger then 98% of humanity, can effectively execute to run the ball effectively...

Just going to leave this here. Not sure he's talking about Grubb but some of this does sound familiar

true....Bernard was our goto guy....didnt see significant targets today...no throws to Ryan at the Barn, featured a lot more today....started running the ball...then just went all in throwing it...it certainly did not have any semblance of continuity except for it resulted in 3 and out a lot

Frankly nobody outside the top 4 should be in it, but they expanded it to 12 and yeah I think we are one of the top 12 teams. We probably aren’t going to win anything but if those are the rules let’s play by the rules.

My thought on thjs, is that resumes can't be compared when lower teams didn't play this weekend; and against ranked opponents no less. The only impact of this game should be league champion and final seeding, but not elimination - this was not a playoff game.

For the 4th down on our goal line… it’s not a kiffinesq decision where it made no sense. I think it was probably the right decision but wrong play call.
Seriously dunno what kind of play call you can trust this QB with - plateaued after the first UGa game and pretty much cratered tonight. Question is, if you’re Duboser and Flubb, and ‘Bama doesn’t make playoffs, do you let Simpson walk when you got two rookies with higher ceilings?

Grubb in a nutshell. He looks like he's gunning to return to the NFL anytime now. I still hold a disdain for the arrogant you know what when he had the audacity to announced himself as the new Bama OC only to bolt to Seattle the next week!!!

I was good with going for it.......but the play call was absolutely atrocious. Whether it was Grubb or an audible, someone should be held accountable for that.

This game was a huge embarrassment. Grubb needs to go back upstairs in the booth. If we don’t make the playoff the practice and bowl game should be about player development. That’ll hopefully help to compensate a bit for all the injuries and walking wounded. O-line needs a MASSIVE overhaul carb to crankshaft. This offense has established zero identity. Our defense has lead to the seasons success.
But hey! ROLL TIDE!

It could have easily been a pick six.

For whatever reason, we stopped playing safe offense in the SC game and it's been downhill every sense. Honestly, I think we were trying to win the Heisman about then and we wanted to showcase more downfield throws. We got away from our strategy and got too many people hurt and couldn't go back to it.

And we thought we could get away it because the defense finally came around.

Funny, I was thinking that we got worse on offense once he moved to the sideline. My thoughts are what I feared and why I didn't make a pick the score thread for this one because the combo of our offense regressing and Georgia's defense progressing was not a good combo for us. We'll probably make the playoffs, but I don't see us making it past the first round with our offense right now.

I think they should have made the switch at halftime. Sure, it may have been disastrous, but you can't keep doing the same thing and hoping for a different result. It was the 5th completely embarrassing loss in two years. I like CKD, and I think he is doing some good things, but he needs to figure out that SEC football is a physical game. Mike Sheila had better offenses than we saw tonight.

I know some felt we should have pulled Ty when things were going badly but I think the optics of doing that would be bad. We're fighting for a playoff spot and CKD post-game was trying to make the case that we lost badly because of the players that were missing but I think to pull Ty would be like saying we're losing bad because of the guys that are playing and if we give that appearance the CFP committee might be less willing to give us the benefit of the doubt.
