This is understated. He may be the best safety in the country when it’s all said and done this year. Nevermind the 4 passes defensed and the 2 picks, but his physical tackles are what impressed me the most.Welcome back the real #18!

This is a very good observation. I think it’s important that we also realize Georgia is going to do everything they can to give their pass rush every opportunity to get home. I expect them to play a lot of man coverage and jam (or mug) our receivers at the LOS. Our guys need to be ready to “fight through” a bunch grabbing and holding at the LOS.I think you're spit on with your assessment. Right now our passing game is elite but Kirby is going to try and shut down the pass and force us to run the ball. We have to be able to do both. We also are soft between the tackles on defense and UGA has a very physical running game. Not sure we can get that fixed this year. We need to score first and constantly make them play from behind. We dont need to let up on the offensive passing attack. Force them to cover all four of our best wr's. Their defense isn't THAT good.
Manning was playing against Make-A-Wish kids in high school, so this really shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.I watched SEC highlights on the SEC network this morning. The Texas fans were booing Manning yesterday. Talk about pressure. I can’t imagine what he’s going through.
Since Tua? You think Ty is better than Mac was in 2020? He may be. Ty and Mac both had/have several great recievers who can catch and make plays. But one advantage Mac had over Ty was a much better OL. I do see a lot of similarities with Mac and Ty. I think Ty continues to improve. Agree he's one of the best we've had. I'm curious to see him in the bigger games.I thought we got better overall. Simpson is the best pure passer we've had since Tua, and one of the best we've ever had.
Except for the runs up the middle (see below), the D is playing well. Even on Wisky's offensive TD, it came on a long pass where our DB had decent, though not perfect, coverage.
Ryan Williams is starting to remind me of a smaller Julio Jones. Can make spectacular catches. Can make DBs leave their underwear on the field. Then drops the easy one. Unlike Julio, he can sometimes loaf on running plays to the other side of the field.
So far, specialists have been a pleasant surprise. Talty and Doud have done well. We don't have much of a sample size, but return coverage on Wisky's kickoff return TD was undisciplined with lots of lane departures.
Still stuff to work on:
-- WRs dropping passes. Williams' dropped TD cost us 4 points (we kicked a FG when we should have had a TD). Another WR dropped a first down that could have prevented Wisky from even having the ball for their offense's only TD.
-- Defensive substitutions. Got caught with too many once. Would have been caught a second time if we hadn't called time out. A third time, a DL was running onto the field as the Wisky QB was calling signals under center. This is pure coaching.
-- Still giving up too many yards on runs up the middle. UGA will gash us if we can't get that buttoned up.
-- Still need to be more productive in our own run game. Getting Jam back should help, but the OL has to open holes, which it's struggling to do. The OL is not living up to its pre-season hype.
I'm sounding more negative than I mean to. Effort is there. For example, Hubbard embarrassed himself against FSU and has used that as motivation. Good for him. In general, complacency is gone, as it should be.
No one has championed for Ty as much as me but I question or disagree with that part too.Since Tua? You think Ty is better than Mac was in 2020? He may be. I can't hear this. The volume is extremely low. This is beautiful
#14 is a pretty decent place after Week 1We moved up to #14 in coaches poll. How is Notre Dame still ranked?
I’ve wondered what kind of competition he faced in private school ball down there.Manning was playing against Make-A-Wish kids in high school, so this really shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
Mac had elite receivers. We’re pretty stacked at that spot right now. The oline in front of Mac was a wrecking crew. We’re still a work in progress. The one glaring thing is Najee was on that team and we know what he was. RTRSince Tua? You think Ty is better than Mac was in 2020? He may be. Nice to see. This is beautiful
They're the best 0-2 team in the country I guess. We moved up to #14 in coaches poll. How is Notre Dame still ranked?
RW has dropped more passes this year than all receivers combined in 2011-2013Disruption from the line needs to happen soon. The stunt that got the late sack just looked a lot more effective because 42 took a much sharper route to the hole.
Still a few missed guys on defense.
Williams and Brooks cannot drop those passes, one was a touchdown, one was a third down conversion.
Speaking of, third down conversions were abysmal by the offense.
USCe is still ranked (barely) in the Coaches PollSeven of Bama's eight SEC opponents this year are in the AP top 25. S Carolina has dropped out.
When I saw this live I said to my son someone's getting a butt chewing. It was nice to see. This is beautiful
Is that Scott?This is beautiful
Or Renaud. I couldn’t tell.Is that Scott?
If so I’ll take it as progress because it would be the 1st time I’ve seen this for a player higher on the depth chart than 3rd string.
If 1st or 2nd string aren’t doing things right then get into ‘em.
Maybe things are improving.
