ESPN: Oklahoma AG calls on Big 12 to suspend Sorsby

I hope the Big 12 calls TT's bluff and suspends Sorsby. That gives TT a devil's choice: (1) Set a court date on the regular docket, which will likely be after the season is over, or (2) get an expedited court date and likely lose.

Either way, Sorsby doesn't play.

I guess there is a third option whereby TT asks for a TRO on the suspension, gets Sorsby on the field and leaves the suits for later. Big 12 headquarters are in the Irving, TX (Dallas metro area). Don't know if the hearing would be there or in Lubbock or whether the same judges would hear it.

But the Big 12 has to grow a spine and do it when they know for 100% certain that they'll be sued. We'll see.

Next is to get the AG’s of the other eight states with Big 12 member institutions to do the same.

Tell the Texas AG to hitch up his big boy britches and “come on”….

I can’t believe I just put this together, but Ken Paxton, Texas AG, is the same grifter who just recently won the Republican nomination for Senate.

He’s a blowhard scumbag’s blowhard scumbag with multiple ethics investigations in his history. Even within the corruption and self-dealing of Texas politics, he’s unusually toxic. He’ll say and do anything to beat his chest and bare his teeth to prove how much of a man he is.

Point being, I don’t think that his threat means even he thinks he has a case. It’s performative for the upcoming Senate general election.

Second, I’m unsure of two legal points. Maybe some of our Legal Eagles can help out on this.

What grounds does Paxton have to bring the power of the State of Texas down on the Big 12? Second (and while I’m happy for the sentiment and support from the Oklahoma AG) what grounds does the AG of any other state have to weigh in and help the Big 12 conference defend a suit filed by the State of Texas?

IOW, what’s the standing for any state to be involved in this on either side?
