Yeah, Arkansas definitely has a security blanket in his contract. 2.85 mil buyout and a noncompete clause naming all teams in the SEC west.

I've heard that Tuberville's name is becoming very hot around Starkville right now. As if Ole Miss fans needed any reason to rekindle their hatred for him.

John Longshore on Finebaum reported (speculated?) that Muschamp was at top of the list ... and if that happened it would happen in the next day or two.

He thought Jimbo Fisher might be next on the list.

Frankly, I would be thrilled with either one of those choices ... especially Fisher.

Apparently, the thing is Tubby was told he was pretty much forced to clean house and replace his ENTIRE staff, and he decided he just couldn't do it, so he left town instead.

Mood sober in Auburn following new that Tuberville is gone

Assistant coaches and players appeared somber and some fought back tears as word filtered through the Auburn athletic complex that Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville would not return in 2009.

Terms of the departure were not immediately available. Auburn was believed to be preparing a news release.

About 4:15 p.m., Auburn staff members began clearing reporters from the complex and asking them to remain in the lobby or reception area. Meanwhile, Tuberville and Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs met in Jacobs' office with several other officials.

Minutes earlier, they had driven into the back parking lot of the athletic complex in the same car. Both men sported smiles and joked with TV reporters about visiting Victoryland.

Muschamp would be a fool to give up a guaranteed slot at Texas for Auburn.

I don't know. He might have an itch to be a head coach now, and Mack Brown isn't showing any signs of retiring. All he has to do is look at Florida State and see how long Bowden keeps holding on, thus preventing Fisher from taking over.

The funny part to me is the barner football program is wandering in the desert.
No matter who they bring in their recruiting for this year is in the tank, while ours keeps getting better.
They will rue the six fingers after we hang about ten on them.
Poor Tubs the only reason I'll miss him is I'd like for all of the ten were hung on him.
As for the barn BWAAAAAAAAAA! too funny they truly will be back where they belong.... just above the cellar dwellers in the west.

What maybe the best part is laughing at their coaching search, no coach with half a brain will step into Lowder U.

Karma can be a nasty thing.
