Chevy Chase thought about going to Ole Miss......Whats that? :conf3:
On the thread before debating the mascot choices it was brought up that I think it was a former player that went to Iraq and got killed. Some association with him. I can't remember right off.Whats that? :conf3:
How long have you lived in Tuscaloosa? Do you remember that the old Tuscaloosa High School's mascot was a black bear?Haaaaaaaa!!! Wait........whhhhhaaat?
A Black Bear? HAHAHAHAHA
:biggrin:They are getting closer and closer to becoming Auburn.
Auburn Tigers, Planesmen, War Eagles.
Ole Miss Rebels, Black Bears, play Dixie.
No. They will still be the Rebels.I haven't really kept up with this. Are they really changing from the Ole Miss Rebels to the Ole Miss Black Bears? Seriously?
They are 1-0 against Mississippi State. The University of Maine Black Bears
Awww.....poor Les Miles. All them close games are really getting to him!
So, political correctness has now made a rebel into a black bear. Nice.No. They will still be the Rebels.
It's just like us being the Crimson Tide with our mascot being an Elephant.
What a *fantastic* pic, CV! I love this particular bear's expression, which begs many a UM-related caption...

p.s. - Re: Landshark...Former Reb LB Tony Fein died a year or two ago. He also served in Iraq w/ the Army, I believe. When he played, he adopted the phrase "Land Sharks" to refer to their defense. Hence the sign they'll still occasionally make after a good defensive play, and the consideration of "Land Shark" for their mascot.
