Spring games are going on in the SEC Saturday at South Carolina and Auburn.
Florida held its on Friday night.
At Georgia, it’s spring scrimmage No. 2 at Sanford Stadium on another windy day.
Here are some observations from 10 minutes or so that the media was allowed to see beforehand:
-Tailback Brendan Douglas was back in a non-contact black jersey a practice after donning a regular red jersey. That should mean Douglas (wrist) is still being held out of any tackling in the scrimmage.
Of course Nick Chubb (knee) remains in a black jersey and isn’t expected to get any scrimmage work.
--Herschel Walker spoke to the team prior to the scrimmage, according to a photo from UGA’s football twitter account.
--Inside linebacker Tim Kimbough, who wasn’t spotted on Thursday, was back in a regular jersey looking good to go for the scrimmage.
--The wide receiver order going through an early drill was Terry Godwin and Michael Chigbu the first two, followed by Reggie Davis and freshman Riley Ridley, then Isaiah McKenzie and walk-on Matt Price (who I saw make a one-handed snag), followed by Jayson Stanley and walk-on Charlie Hegedus and Shakenneth Williams and Wyatt Payne. Probably wouldn’t read too much into that.
--Looked like Isaiah Wynn was getting some left tackle work with the ones early on.
