Marquee out-of-state programs came calling for Rome outside linebacker/defensive end Adam Anderson but the 2018 four-star prospect made an early pledge on Friday morning to Georgia and Kirby Smart.
“That’s been kind of his favorite team if he has a favorite team,” Rome coach John Reid said. “It’s an in-state team. Kirby did a good job of recruiting him early. We think it’s important as we establish this program here that we get a kid to a state school.”
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound first-team all-state pick’s scholarship offers also included Ohio State and Alabama.
Reid describes the speedy pass rusher as someone who is “violent” on the field with “super long arms.” He projects to an outside linebacker in Georgia’s 3-4 scheme.
Georgia also has a 2018 commitment from four-star offensive lineman Max Wray of Franklin, Tenn.
