This is a great free site but what are the opinions on the best pay sites? All are fairly expensive but what are the best for the money?

Do not do it. All forums have someone with access to it and they usually bring the information straight over.

Not what you want to hear, I'm sure, but all of them are a waste of money. You'll either agree with me now or when you're about to cancel your subscription having wasted $120 ;)

I have a BOL account and I think it's well worth it. You'd be surprised at the stuff that does not get posted on free boards.

I'd be interested in seeing poll results where subscribers voted in hindsight on the quality of information provided. If given access to subscribers thoughts and opinions I'd ask them a few questions like:

Is the content focused on a variety of team topics or do certain subjects get more coverage?
Is the news informative and current?
Are rumors dispelled or given merit?
Is there a sense of accountability in relation to content validity?
Are the views and opinions of highly rated users considered fact even when based on gut feelings?
Do the moderators portray a sense of omnipotence and/or abuse their powers?
Does the site provide unbiased news in their coverage of an issue?
And lastly language. This is important to me. When someone uses profanity it devalues their opinions, in my mind. If I'm paying for what I read, there's no way I'm paying for the devil to pump his filth into my living room. JMOTIFWIW

I have never undertood why you'd pay to read recruiting rumors. If someone commits, it will be mentioned here and in the newspaper.

I just don't know how much of a future these pay for recruiting sites have left in them. Information is so easily and rapidly available, it's hard to see a future anymore with these sites now with all the other social media sites. Then again I could be wrong.

247Sports has only existed for about a year or so. It's doing quite well.

Paying for a recruiting site only gains you about a half day advantage on public sites as someone always posts the information so that they look like they are "in the know".

Save your money and get the updates for free!!

It's carrying supporters and followers from a previous site which was rivals. It is new and it does have that going for it but in the end they offer the same thing. I guess I just wouldn't pay for it, I usually find what I need right here.

It's really about what YOU think is worth it. I can't get myself to pay the $100+/year at BOL or TideSports, but I have no problem paying the $47/year at TI. I feel like it's well worth it because believe it or not, some info does not make it over here or any other free site for that matter. JMO of course.

I'm not into recruiting and don't follow it at all. I had never heard of Yeldon before I read on here he had changed his committment from the Barn to here. I'll look at the list on signing day but that's about it as far as my interest in recruiting. If a recruiting expert comes on a radio show I change stations. So maybe I just don't "get" the intertest in recruiting.

So can someone explain to me why you'd pay to read recruiting iformation? Any bonafide committments will be in the paper or you can read them on here. And they'll be official when siging day rolls around. So why pay for what are just glorified rumors?

For that matter, I don't get the concept of paying for posting on message boards like Scout or Rivals. I used to poat on an Atlanta Braves sports board that was bought out by a pay site. It had a free message board, but you had to pay to post on the main board, which was supposedly full of inside info from the boardmaster. It caused a big schism between people who paid for his stuff and those of us from the old board who thought he was a jerk.

Granted, i'm cheap, but I doubt I'd ever pay for something like that. Tide Fans is free and very well run. Its all I need.

I quit BOL & TI because the supposed super secret recruiting info that was to never leave their message board..Would be posted on free sites within 5mins..Things may have changed on those boards since I quit them..All I know is between Twitter & all the free sites I visit..I know as much about recruiting now than I did when I was a paying member on BOL & TI..And you can YouTube videos of just about any recruit being recruited by Bama..

The one thing I do miss from the pay sites..Is the Recruits interviews..JMO

TI´s forum has become unreadable at times. Rodney has always had great recruiting news. He's always worked at it tirelessly. He also won't BS you - either privately or publicly - and that's always a temptation for recruiting crystal-ballers.

You're right, Rodney shoots straight.
