A good matchup:
Florida State (6-5)
Miami (5-6) if they beat Vtech next week..
Troy (5-4)
South Carolina (6-5) vs Clemson next week

who would you like to play if you could choose..

I would like a rematch with Miami since we have FSU next year..

I'd probably rather play USC or Ohio State than Troy or Hoover HS. It'd be embarassing to get out coached/out played by Troy. Hoover would definitely out coach us.

Chance of a matchup with S.Car ?:conf2:

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UAB vs. BAMA

The Most Disappointing Season with Inept Head Coaches.com Bowl

Troy would run Bama out of a stadium.

I truly don't think CMS wants to go bowling. It truly might seal his fate if its not sealed already.

heck.I'm not so sure we will be in a Bowl period....2-6 in the SEC! This one major underachieving Team. To be honest if we played anyone with a winning record could this staff win!The truth really hurts, but the facts are this was a BAD year for Bama football.

I hope we play another big school in whatever bowl we go to. I can handle losing to a big school, but not a c-usa team. lol.

Loads of "quality" 6-6 BCS opponents out there to choose from:

Big 12

Kansas 6-5 and a probable loser to Missouri to go 6-6
Okla. St. 6-5 and a probable loser to Oklahoma to go 6-6

Big East

Pitt 6-5 and a probable loser to Louisville to go 6-6
Cinncinati 6-5 but a likely favorite to move up to 7-4

Big 10

Minnesota 6-6, season over
Iowa 6-6, season over

ACC

FSU 6-5 and a probable loser to Florida to go 6-6
Miami 5-6 with an upset of BC to go 6-6
Virginia 5-6 with an upset of Virginia Tech to go 6-6

PAC

Washington State 6-6, season over

Ever think maybe there are too many bowls? :biggrin2:

Actually, with the new rules, I'm not thinking we can go bowling. And we shouldn't. We can't beat anybody with a pulse.
If USC beats Clemson, we have to hope that another conference can't send enough teams to get a vacant bowl bid (looks like there will be two vacancies - one in the ACC & one in the Big 10).

If USC loses to Clemson, we should hope that the Independance bowl would take Bama over a Spurrier led USC team. Given our history in the Independance Bowl, they probably would take Bama. If they take USC, we will be offered by either (or both) the Motor City Bowl and the MPC Computer Bowl.

My point - we are going bowling...

I'll see you all next year. This board has turned in to a mass suicide party. I frankly can't stand the negativity. Bama has been here before and will be on top again in the not so near future. I hate to lose but if I took this sort of attitude with my football teams as a coach, we would never win or be successful. Until Spring.

Music City Bowl

Alabama vs. Wake Forest

If it is the Music City Bowl I will not be attending. I've been to the last two and I'm going to spare myself the embarrassment....not to mention the money for tickets, t-shirts, and beer. I love the Tide but it is too painful to watch.

i was thinking the same thing about whether we can go. right now the sec has 9 eligible teams. if so.car. wins next week, i think we're out of it.

isn't the rule that a 6-6 team can't go to a bowl if there is an available 7-5 team? and does that rule apply only to teams in conference, or does it also apply to ooc teams as well?

but if we get a bid, we have to take it because even with the awful coaching we have, its good for the players to get an extra month of practice.

I don't think that we can go the the Music City Bowl. The Independance Bowl gets the 8th SEC team. If we get one of the SEC slots, it will be as the 8th team as there are 7 teams in the SEC with 7 wins.

As stated in an earlier thread,we at 6-6 can only go to a bowl that has an SEC tie in.If we are the 8th SEC team selected,we will likely be in Shreveport.South Carolina or Kentucky would be the team filling a vacated slot in the Motor City or MPC bowl because we didn't meet the qualifications for those Bowl games.
