Pat Forde's latest article - He calls for Nation to pull for the Texas in the BCSGC.

He says that all fans outside of the SEC should really pull for Texas to "save" college football. The talks about the SEC's dominance and takes a little stab at Texas' overplayed underdog role. I have no problem with the villain role. I can't link to it on my phone, but I didn't see it posted, and thought it was worth a read.

I agree, it's a waste of good brain cells to read any of Pat Forde's work.

I say let the "iron triangle" that I call the mainstream sports print media, the NYT, and ESPN continue this false "David vs. Goliath" story line. It just exposes how little confidence they have in Texas to beat us straight up. They see the future and Alabama football and most of them don't like it. It's that simple....

Isn't he sort of biting the hand that feeds him?

Not saying ESPN wants Alabama (or any SEC team to win), but his argument is about the power of the SEC, including the rant about television deals.

This must be based on the question posed to Kirk Herbstreit during the media PC today in California. Kirk was talking along the same lines, although not suggesting people should pull for Texas, being that he's calling the game.

Heck, nearly ever opposing SEC fan is pulling for Texas anyway, but thankfully for Alabama and Texas Tech, Texas A and M, and Oklahoma fans, at least a select few is pulling for the Tide.

I could care less, though. I've pretty much cut off my alliance with the rest of the SEC simply because I refuse to pull for team's whose fans refuse to pull for mine.

My most vivid memory of Pat Forde was before the BCSCG in 2006 when Ohio State and Troy Smith were supposedly God's gift to college football. He was making a case for USC to go i think, the team he was arguing for is irrelevant though. He said UF was a joke and that they hadn't beaten anyone. he said "You don't get any credit for beating Alabama this year... they are a joke".

What an idiot.

I believe he also called Alabama fans "delusional" for thinking we could return to the national spotlight, because we couldn't compete with UT, auburn, UF, UGA, and LSU in recruiting. he said kids didnt care about tradition.

He's the most narcissistic, arrogant talking head in the college football community(with the possible exception of Tim Brando), and he hates the SEC. He makes every case he can that the SEC is overrated and the Big East is underrated. hes also in love with the BCS buster schools and relished Utahs win last year.

Part of the reason I only pull for Bama, except in rare circumstances (where PSU or ND are involved, and only if that doesn't involve the barn or sloppy top)

These two sounded like they were in full reverse the other day. I think it depends on who their audience is.

I think Pat Forde might well be one of the most hated writers in all of sports. I know that the Kentucky people absolutely despise him for being a puppet of Pitino. The guy does come across as a bit of a chump.

Mel and McShay just picked Bama on Sportscenter. Kiper said he was "all about Nick Saban and his defense..."
