Is anybody watching the Pitt - WVU game? Pat White is tearing them up with his legs. It would have been nice if he would have stayed in Alabama

Unbelievable athlete, but I'm not sure how good a fit he would be in Shula's offense. If you saw, he struggles throwing the ball and despite only having about five attempts, has thrown an interception. Still, I'm happy for the kid. I like seeing kids from the state do well. That offense fits him to a tee, he is going to be very good for the next three years.

I love their scheme and I'm happy for Pat White. He definitely made the right choice. I would have loved to see him taking a Prothro-type role with us, though.

Yeah, I was surprised when they said he was from Alabama. I didn't know that. He became the starter after the #1 QB went down with an injury against the Louisville Cards and turned a 17 point deficit into a victory that has put them into a BCS bowl. The RB #10 is also a freshman.

Other than UMS-Wright, you are correct that Bama doesn't recruit the Mobile area very successfully. LSU and Auburn have a bit of a stranglehold on Mobile public schools. However, Bama has done a pretty good job in Baldwin County (across the Bay) over the past few years. We've pulled some good ones out of Daphne (Kenny King, Atlas Herrion, Jeremy Clark) and Bay Minette (Wallace Gilberry). His father said he liked Coach Shula and Alabama but Pat was dead set on playing QB. I wish that Pat White would have followed the other guys to Tuscaloosa, but I wish him the best at WVU.

Don't forget Antwan Odom (Bryant) and Juke King (Theodore) came from down on the bay. Must just be the people in the southern part of the county are the only one's with taste! j/k
