What if Milroe's stat line is like 13/23 for 192 yards and 2 TDS and we beat UGA by a FG?
That’s Cute and made me lol irl.

It’s going to depend on why that is his stat line.

If it happens the exact same way as last year then we haven’t learned anything and neither has Kirby.

If those are the stats because it was in 2-3 qtr it might be good.

Last year’s performance in the SECCG got the job done in context of that game only.

If that’s how we plan on winning this year we’ll miss the playoffs.

It depends - are we executing the plays as designed and called, on time and on schedule and consistently moving the chains; limiting mistakes and negative plays with the exception of when the D just wins a rep?

or, are we not executing throws to wide open receivers and TE and also not checking down to open RBs and getting stuck in a lot of 3rd and long or 3 and out situations?

Means Bama won in spite of him, and the defense totally shut Beck down.

Also means Georgia had several turnovers, and Alabama immediately turned one into a NOT.

Means the receivers made several plays on 50/50 balls because Kirby tries to take what you do best away from you. That would be, until shown otherwise, the deep ball.

Or it means it was a hard fought game, and Milroe's two TDs, along with some defensive help, sealed the win.

SEC Now had a segment on UGA last night and Jordan Rodgers shared some of the same concerns regarding UGA this season that have been mentioned on this board. He said they lost the centerpiece of their offense for the last three years in Bowers. The entire offense and alignments of the other WR's were built around him. In his opinion they don't have another guy, be WR or TE, coming back this season with the same talent level as Bowers. He then went on to say that losing McConkey was going to be hard to replace as well because he was truly a hybrid between a legit WR and TE.

I know many have UGA going undefeated in the regular season, but I simply do not think they will. I think they will lose two games in the regular season. Out of the Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee games, I think they lose two of those.

It will be Beck’s season, for better or for worse.

Unless the offensive line shows up big time and the running game gets going. I’m still not sold you can win with a solid running game but only an average defense.

Interesting season for Georgia, especially if they somehow miss the championship game the first year Saban isn’t there.

It's possible.

Jess has 7 SEC teams finishing with a 10-2 or better overall record and 6-2 or better SEC record.

You could really pick any 2 of those 7 teams right now to make the SECCG.

There could be a really long and crazy amount of Tie-Breakers this year to decide the Top Two teams.

It's still weird to me to no longer have Divisions.

That makes some sense. Can see it.

I can see Bobo being a factor in their underachievement, too. Either Kirby didn't let him be as aggressive as he (finally) let Monken be, or he's not as aggressive as Monken

If we can beat UGA this coming season, we have a great chance to beat anyone, so it really doesn't matter how we beat them if we can beat them.

Same thinking applied to our opponents over the last 15 years.

I don't think many if any of the opponents we faced who got the rare win over us did much hand-wringing over stats...other than the final score.

Beat the best teams we play in whatever way we can.

But from your response, I take it that you'd still be upset with Milroe if we beat UGA this coming season exactly like we did last year.

This^^^^. I don't care whose stat line is best, whose QB throws for most yards or has the higher completion percentage. The W is the only thing that matters.

Yes, because in the playoffs there would either be a rematch, or a tougher opponent.

Unless you’re trotting out the 2011 defense that stat line will get you beat 7/10 times at least.

As has been explained, a lot of those yards are residing in Austin, Texas right now, driving a Lambo.

The premise of the question is based upon this year's team achieving the same results against UGA, not last year's team achieving the same result against this year's UGA team.

And the question wasn't about the playoffs.

You mean like last time? I mean, I'd still be calling for his job, but it's unlikely anything would change. Since we can likely afford up to 3 losses and still make the playoff, it would be nice to have a more black and white result. Either we beat them and Milroe plays great, or he has the aforementioned statline and we lose, and then try a different direction just to see. It would be nice to have full clarity by week 5. But of course a win is a win, so I'd be ecstatic regardless. My cardiologist on the other hand, would not.

It also depends on what UGA looks like this season as well. Until they show their DL has returned to what it was two years ago then Milroe could have that stat line and we win by double digits because we run the ball all over their defense. I know their public perception is still riding from the NC's two years ago but they did not have a dominant team last season and there are questions by some analysts if they're even going to be able to replace the talent they lost from last year's team.

I agree that UGA probably isn't what they were a couple years ago, but if we beat them by double digits this year Kirby may pull an Urban and fake a heart attack.

That would be just terrible.
