Not official yet, but it looks like Paul Johnson will be headed to SMU. That seems like a lateral move to me.

L O LHe'll win at SMU. I'm surprised he didn't wait for a bigger job to open up.
This is the best hire for SMU since Eric Dickerson and Craig James.
Knocked that one out of the ball park!:hurray:This is the best hire for SMU since Eric Dickerson and Craig James.
I was hoping he would have got the Neb gig myself. He would have been a nice fit there IMO.Great for SMU. Well that is a good move on Coach Johnson part. He will show the rest of the country just what coaching is all about. He is one great teacher and knows his X's and O's. :BigA:
I was under the impression he was headed to Nebraska. Neb just lost out on getting their running game back. Coach Johnson would have had the Big Red Machine moving and moving big. What a huge lose. :BigA:

I agree. If he can even keep a fraction of the talent that comes through Dallas to stay home he'll be in pretty darn good shape, not to mention the rest of the state. C-USA isn't exactly a powerhouse either, he could have them in contention in a couple of years.I think SMU has a lot of potential. Large recruiting base. Old tradition before the death penalty. Great academics. He could bring it back to the level with TCU at least. Then he'd be able to write his ticket.
