Question: Pep Rally / MDB Performances in Pasadena

I have been looking all over the place trying to find more than just the one now-sold out Alumni Tailgate. Surely that's not all there is. I see that the UT band is going to be performing at Universal Studios, so I was wondering if the MDB was doing something similar. I remember in past big bowl games there have been parades or battles of the bands; however, there's no itinerary posted on the MDB site.

What's the word, band members? Can you tell us where and when you'll be doing what?

Man -the Alumni tailgate party is sold out? That must mean they sold the heck out of the tickets.
I mean it is just hamburgers and hotdogs-- you can run down to Piggly Wiggly and get some more meat and buns.
With everyone looking for tickets I bet they could have sold another 500 tickets to the event.
But they know better than me, I am guessing that it will be REAL crowded at the Alumni Tent. But that how I like it. More Bama folks to yell "Roll Tide" with.

anyway many thanks to the Alumni Association for having a tailgate party that does not cost a ransom. Unlike the Total Sports Tailgate tent which cost $150 per person and will have the exact same menu.

I heard about Universal Studios hosting the Texas band for Fan Day, and I haven't heard a thing about us being there, too. The Universal thing is for BOTH teams, but only Texas' band is going?

Generally, we practice at a local high school the day before the game, but since we're practicing in Tuscaloosa before we leave, no one's sure. Still no itinerary. I'm beginning to think they forgot about us! :rolleyes:
 
If I could find my horn, I could blow the dust off it and play Yea Alabama in the parking lot.:BigA: Free of charge, of course.
 
I haven't been able to find any events surrounding this game the day before or day of other than the ESPN thing.The other Bowl games i've been to have had several events/pep rallys leading up to the game.If anyone finds anything such as pep rallys,former player apperances,or anything BCS Championship and Bama related please post here!Thanks and Roll Tide!!!!
 
Okay! We have an MDB itinerary! We are doing the Universal Studios pep rally. We will arrive at 2 PM and perform in the park before we get set loose!

Also, on Gameday, we're sending two pep bands to play. One at the Alabama Tailgate Part and the other is the Alumni Association Pep rally!

Do you have your charter flight info. yet? I just picked up the football team charter yesterday (woohoo!) and was wondering when the band is leaving. Delta still has no info. for crew yet.

We're on three "Sun Country Airlines" flights from Tuscaloosa to the Palm Beach Airport. All three planes are Boeing 737's. Departure times are 11, 11:45, and 12:30.

Eeek. Sun Country 737s are no fun... especially cross-country. Sorry 'bout that.

... and I hope you meant LONG Beach Airport not PALM Beach... Palm Beach is in Florida....
 
This is going to cost the University bit time. Five charter flights! It is going to take half of the 2009/2010 conference split just to pay for the planes.
But I would want it no other way!

Does the expense come out of the GINORMOUS profit the school makes off of the football program or somewhere else? IMO, it is money well spent! You can't play for the National Championship without the MDB!! RTR!!:BigA:
 
Remember the players could have chosen to get to Pasadena and use the "stipend" allocated by the BCS; but they chose to leave as a team and chartered the flights to Long Beach........

To me, they play as a team "always" and they fly as a team always!!!
