The Giant Dioon - aka Dioon spinulosum.
I have a few here including this small one in the ground. Plants in this family produce a flush of new growth all at one time and the first one of the year usually happens right about now. Mine started a week or so ago.

These fresh fronds are soooooo soft! Enjoying them now because won't be long when they become super stiff!
If you look at the pic at the top (Internet pic I grabbed) you can see the new flushes of growth on those spinulosums also!
Those are some big ducks!!!This is from a fella in Texas, on one of the message boards I'm on......pretty cool..........
Photos #1 & 2) The ducks are late this year to this nesting box that I provide. There is usually a hatching in early May but these eggs won't be ready till early June. They usually lay about a dozen before the pair start taking turns sitting on them.
Photo #3) Those are Black Bellied Whistling Ducks. Here is a brood that hatched in one of my boxes a few years ago.

The new sheriffs that are running our town in the ground.....
Yes I can. I remember my Father complaining about Hi-test being 36.9 a gallon. He passed away in 1992. If he could see what the world has become since then he would have another heart attack.View attachment 24825
Budweiser was $1.58 for a 6 pack and Marlboros were $.35 a pack. Those were the good old days.
