On October 7th, 1916, Georgia Tech defeated Cumberland University, 222-0, in the most lopsided game in college football history. Coached by John Heisman, later namesake of college football's most famous trophy, Georgia Tech took a 63-0 lead in the first quarter at Grant Field in Atlanta.
This record stood for 106 years and a day until Alabama defeated Texas A&M 223-0. Jimbo Fisher was fired after the first quarter as Alabama put up 70 points to beat Georgia Tech's first quarter scoring record, also from the 1916 historic game. Directly after the game all fifty-three of Texas A&M's 5-star defensive lineman from last year's "greatest class of all time" entered the transfer portal causing widespread panic and forcing Texas A&M to forfeit the remainder of their 2022 games.
UPDATE: The courts awarded Jimbo Fisher's ex-wife $89,990,000 of his $90,000,000 buyout. With the $10,000 difference Jimbo rented an apartment in Tuscaloosa hoping to be hired by coach Nick Saban as an NIL analyst for $35,000 per year.
