My friend, Rachel, who works with me at the vet school here at Auburn is pregnant with her first child. Her OB called her here at work today to tell her that there is an abnormality in her blood work that points towards Down Syndrome. She and her husband are having to go to UAB for further diagnostics. She has no family in Alabama (she is from Florida; her husband is in pharmacy school here). She will be strong enough to handle whatever the diagnosis will be, but please keep her and her husband in your prayers as they are in this limbo period. Thanks and RTR!

Thanks you all for the prayers! Rachel went to UAB and met with the genetics counselor. They did a detailed ultrasound and amnio and everything is great! They have a healthy baby girl on the way!

Please continue to remember them, though, as they are going to try to find a new OB (one who doesn't call and scare them at work, one whose technician doesn't ask if she at the doctor because she is miscarrying, one who explains that there was only ever a 2% chance that the baby would have Down's).

Thanks again, everyone!
