Good preseason win vs a team that will probably be pretty good in March.

Oats was able to play around with his rotations a bit since there were no foul outs.

1H looked really good, Memphis made some adjustments in 2H and we went long stretches without scoring. Almost looked like we were bored in 2H.

It did seem like we lost our focus for extended periods of time in the 2H.

It seemed that Memphis was using last year's book on defending Alabama - play a tough, physical game.

It was a very sloppy game. The refs were horrible. We were down 2 or 3 (including Youngblood) starters and we still almost scored 100 points. Once we get a regular rotation established and tighten a few things up, we're going to be fun to watch.

I watched last night and I'm so excited about this season. We've got a deep line-up from my pov. By Conference time we should be gelling as a team and rolling! RTR!

Goodness gracious! We left 18 points off from the charity stripe. Memphis left 19.

But despite the sloppiness, you can see thisTide team has an embarrassment of riches with such a deep roster. And the word from T-town I'm hearing is Youngblood is the Alpha and we haven't even seen him yet!

Game was was early second half. Bama had a 20 point lead and the Memphis two best players would have fouled out if fouls counted. That’s when the sloppy play started again and the team was coasting a little. Bad idea not to count fouls as it’s no motivation to play without fouling and made the game extremely clunky with FT every other possession.

Philon looks like he could be a force with Sears by the end of the year.

I think Memphis is a much better team than Wake Forest, a good test for us before the season starts.
Second half looked a little sloppy. Allowing ORB was a problem most of the night. Didn't like how easy it was for them to get into the lane on us either, given that we're missing two big men it's understandable.

Overall this team has the potential to be great. Polish up some things in the non conf early and we will be as dangerous as ever. I hope we can stay consistent all year long and into the tourney. We've got a looonggg way to go until then.

I like how we handled tough/ physical this year vs last year. I think we're built for it.

Bama was without Nelson (starter), Wrightsell (starter), Youngblood (starter or 6h man) and Sherrell (6'10" shot blocker and rebounder). This team will be very good once they gell. Having Youngblood out for several months will hurt.

Yeah, I never wanna see that again! At least make 'em serve a penalty of some sort after 5 fouls. That became painful to endure as a spectator.

We really didn't have a confident guard other than Mark Sears. Hopefully Youngblood will help out but IMO some of the kids need to grow up soon.

Philon, Holloway and Mallette are showing they do and Carpenter has shown good signs too!

Considering Holloway's one year tenure at AU, he looks like his confidence has been restored.

Mallette average 13 at Pepperdine, IIRC. I think he has one of the purest shooting motions on the whole team!

Philon, by all accounts, has been the surprise of the fall. He's long, but quick and he's going to be our most legit guard who can take it to the rim consistently. Sears is good at that too, but he's more handicapped because of his height.
