I know you're tired of this topic. I'm beyond tired of dealing with it.
99% of posters are fine. 1% just can't seem to help themselves and will seek out any gap, even if the gap is measured in angstroms. You can almost hear them do the Beavis and Butthead laugh.
Here's the background: Some profane terms are often referred to in common conversation (not posts on TideFans!) by acronyms. I'm sure you can think of at least a few off the top of your head.
Well, we have an ambitiously creative poster who added a second layer of circumvention. He disguised one of those acronyms using the Phonetic / Aviation / Military alphabet. You know...Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, etc.
So it was a one circumvention embedded within another. Some posters caught the meaning. Others didn't and asked what in the world the guy was talking about. His answers indicated that he knew exactly what he was doing.
Additionally, there's a decent possibility that a different poster took the profane term as now being OK and posted a much more thinly-disguised version.
Both are now on vacation.
Holy moly, guys! What does it take to leave Beavis and Butthead in the rearview mirror?
If you feel the need to get cute, maybe just don't post the circumvention. If you've had a drink or two, maybe just don't post at all.
Regardless, you can't get creative enough to make it OK to convey profanity on TideFans in any manner whatsoever.
