Questions about Milroe.

Long story short. Milroe is a RB who is playing QB and the offensive scheme is designed for a true pocket passer with an ability to run if needed. Hence the questions as to why Ty Simpson is not starting. Few sites have suggested team players said if JM was benched they wouldn't play and while I don't believe that to be true it could be.
To put it on point either the game plan must change like last year or the QB change must occur.
People who know say there is locker room drama.

I'm growing warmer to the idea that CKD is trying to "thread the needle," (an expression Jess used recently) to try to navigate this without completely losing the team while having his eye on what needs to be changed in the offseason.

If my hunch is accurate, it means two things:

1. CKD may not be highlighting TS because he knows he's surpassed JM as a passer and if he does it'll create more division on the team and within the fanbase. It may be that he's conveying to TS that things will change next year and he's part of the plan.

2. He is planning a massive roster change in the offseason. No telling how many players with eligibility he may tell to hit the portal...and he'll use the portal to get the type of players we are missing (talent/attitude) to change the culture for next year.

I'll be the first to admit I don't like that there is apparently division/bias in the team right now. But CKD has to answer for what he does and he has to live with the consequences.

It's easy for me to say "clean house now," which might have to result in kicking people off the team, but the optics of that may not be what is best for getting thru the rest of this season and holding on to what is shaping up as a very good recruiting class.

Blake is in the top echelon for me as well for all the reasons you list. Plus, his TD throw to Kenyan Drake against Florida was not only the right read (remember those???) but also was one of the best thrown passes you'll ever see...

That play was actually put in during pregame warmup by Kiffin. Drake motioned out of the backfield and a LB went with him. Defense was in man of course and Drake made a double move.

The biggest goal for next season is for this team to get to running CKD's offense. The offense he ran at UW, which is an offense based on timing and anticipation. I want CKD to succeed and be the best version of himself and he'll be at his best when we can run his full offense. Right now, we're not running anything close to his offense. I'm not going to get into why we're not, I think it has been fully discussed, argued over, and beaten to death.

But if "you" are an Alabama supporter you want the head coach to be at his best and most head coaches are at their best when they can have their full systems in place and not running a piecemilled version of it. We didn't hire a guy who has glowingly succeeded at every stop to not do the same here because we're unable to run the offense that's gotten him where he is today. Wanting anything other than that is just plain selfish.
