And again, it may be nothing. It just seems a bit strange that he would announce, while Alabama's in town, on an otherwise random Thursday a month before NSD. I don't know if there's anything to it -- and I kind of doubt there is -- but rest assured the LSU conspiracy theorists will be out in full swing.

He's announcing at the Under Armour game, which will be on the 2nd.

I say 23% chance, because a back like Fournette will want all of the carries his first year (and re-write the college record books).......that will never happen at Bama.

That would fly in the face of everything he has said during his recruitment. As a rb, exclusive carries are not the draw they used to be.

Mileage on the RB career has been mentioned ad naseum on this board. Our staff does a great job of balancing our RB's work load. Also, our staff does a great job teaching our RB's what to do without the ball that is invaluable at the next level.

He won't get that at LSU, either. Les does not run a single back offense. In fact, he generally uses 3 backs.

Well, I'll see your 23% and raise it to 24%.

Interesting % you chose there. I don't know either but I really doubt CNS would have made LF his #1 running back to pursue (while seemingly letting a guy like Rock Thomas go) if he dind't think he had a better shot than 23%. JMO.

I think Fournette is a heavy LSU lean. I would love to get him, but at this time it just seems like its becoming more of a long shot to me.

I agree with you, but you should look at LSU's running back situation for 2014 and 2015. Leonard wouldn't have that much competition.

Wasn't quoted earlier, somewhere along the lines of saying that a little competition doesn't scare him? I think that is him saying don't be surprised, because he's probably thinking a little harder about Alabama.

Fournette will be announcing his commitment on January 2nd, which is also the day we'll be playing Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl.

Is that the day his All-Star game is being played?

We will see. Clearly LSU is the team to beat. But it is not 100% in their favor. Do not like odds but we have a decent shot.
