"And it's Richardson off left tackle. Fluker pancakes his man!! Richardson is off and running -- fifty, forty, thirty, twenty, ten -- and it's Touchdown, AlaBAMa!"

Re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

I'm gonna say this re; T.R. The same person who told me last yr. that Julio was coming, and he would know, told me today that it is the same with Trent. He's ours. If he turns out wrong,I'll kill him! LOL! But i don't think he is.

Thanks Adam! You were correct again. Sure am glad I didn't have to kill ya!

I was as impressed by young Trent Richardson as any eighteen year old I've seen lately (and I've been around some good ones, too.)

He must have talked about "staying humble" through the recruiting process about a half dozen times.

He'll do.

Boclive, I agree. He handled that press conference like a pro. He is well-spoken for a high school kid. He looks to have a great family support system as well. He has a bright future ahead of him!

For those who missed it.

How impressive is it that AJ took the time to go all the way to Pensacola to be with him team mate on his signing day. Now that's friendship and leadership. These guys are bonding already. You heard him naming off friends that he has made during his visits as the reason he is sticking with the tide. Well one of the many reasons...

I must say you had me worried for a while....Time to strap your helment on son....Were going for a drive to a championship.....RTR:BigA::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Why would he?

He's trying to build NSD drama because he wants to have an "announcement."

So, A) he's solid to us and wanted to have a little NSD pub or B) he's switching on NSD.

A little background info...he was encouraged to commit before his senior year because of his injury luck and people around him wanted him to "have a spot" in case of catastrophic injury his senior year. A player of his caliber should have an "announcement' of some type.

IMO, the reason he stays with Bama comes down to this in the end. In spite of all the pressure from UF, stay in state, the sweet talk of Urban....it will come down to CNS vs. CUM. And, TR has said the difference between the two is CNS runs a "pro" program, while CUM runs a "college" program. Advantage us.

I know that I already pointed out a while back that this made really good sense to me. Now after listening to CNS talk about the NSD class and in particular Trent Richardson's announcement, I am convinced that all of the late announcements were a good thing for Bama. CNS said he talked to Trent or his family a couple of times a day, that he slept well last night and he pretty much knew who was going to sign with Bama. He actually said he knew which dogs to pet and which dogs would bite. All of the prior commits signed as expected with the exception of West who was 'let go' before NSD so to speak.

Did anyone else notice that Alabama had the national spot light late on NSD. First Dre and Kendall had the recruiting world watching them announce on ESPNU and then Trent let them all, including us, stew a little. Then he put the icing on the Bama cake with his late announcement. It could not have been orchestrated better for national publicity in my opinon. I think CNS could be the recruiting alpha dog whisperer. ;)

OK, I just watched TR's press conference. Towards the end he says "Coach Meyer called me today". I'm sure NSD is still part of the dead period. Isn't that a violation?

Yeah, it looks like Dre knew where TR was going to sign at least a week before NSD. TR had been recruiting him for Bama the whole time.

Melick's column:
Everyone else may have worried about which scholarship offer Pensacola running back Trent Richardson was going to accept Wednesday afternoon, but not Gadsden's Dre Kirkpatrick. "Trent?" Kirkpatrick said, about an hour before Richardson's long-awaited official announcement came. "Oh, he's going to Alabama. He's been texting me for a week, telling me I'd better be going to Alabama, too. He's been all over me about going to Alabama."

Speaking on TR and CUM's "need for a power back" ... did anyone notice that UF didn't sign a pure RB for this class ... this is the second year in a row they didn't sign a pure running back. They did sign Demps last year, but he's an all-purpose back.

And he also came out the day after NSD saying that they would not be changing their offense.

In other words, he spent a lot of time flapping his gums, but no one ever believed the first word that came out of his mouth. Trent Richardson included.

Yep, I saw that article too. I just thought it was funny cause it pretty much proved EXACTLY what folks were saying, he just wanted TR because he didn't want to lose the number 1 player in the state ... regardless of the fact that he wouldn't have a place for him in his O scheme.
