Reliaquest Bowl for Bama and Michigan

Yeah, all the SEC matchups outside of the 12 team bracket are pretty lame to me. The South Carolina vs. Illinois looks OK, but the others are basically yawners for me.

I hope the players that choose to play for Alabama in the bowl game have a more excited reaction than I did in hearing the matchup against Michigan. If the team is as indifferent as I currently feel about that game, Bama will lose.

It has also been discussed ad naseum, but the automatic byes reserved only for conference champions also creates some dumb dynamics in the 12 team playoff. The format definitely needs to be updated.

I'm not one for boycotting games, but I would give Bama a pass if they turned this one down. I would be more enthusiastic if they gave us the Citrus Bowl vs Illinois and gave South Carolina the Reliaquest with Michigan. Why yet ANOTHER Bama vs Michigan game? What is SO intriguing about that matchup? The media will grasp at straws and say that Bama can avenge them beating Saban in the final game of his career, but that's about ALL they can say. We have drawn them enough over the years to officially call it tiresome. I won't be watching

What the heck is the Reliaquest bowl anyways. What did it used to be/where is it.

I guess we can get revenge on Michigan if we show up, but the committee is definitely kicking us while they can, putting SMU in the playoff and pairing us with a 7-5 team. Shows that they think we are trash.

Maybe they didn’t want a repeat of Georgia vs FSU. Except, I couldn’t tell you which one would be a Georgia and which one would be FSU.

This is not getting revenge on anyone. 2 different teams and coaches in a meaningless game.

The bowls are really meaningless now. Anything other than the playoff is seen as a participation trophy. I hope we don't have any opt outs, but with the attitude displayed by some this year we may be disappointed. The lack of discipline this team has shown at times may be a sign of other problems.

Aaaaaaand YouTube TV sub just cancelled. I have no desire to watch any of the playoff clown show. And I'm not (sadly) interested in watching our #2s play in the Outback Bowl.

Clemson vs Texas for the first time ever and Tennessee's first ever trip to Columbus could be interesting. SMU-Penn State and a "renewed in state rivalry" between Notre Dame and Indiana are just...meh
