I have family that are in the Ole Miss fan base. I can tell you that there are many who wanted Freeze back at Ole Miss, but just as many who were so tired of his Baptist preacher pose. He has a sordid past that goes all the way back to his time as girl's basketball coach in Memphis. Stuff that would have gotten him fired today, and probably banned from the teaching profession.Deere lowered if y'all could see the rationalizations right now. I'm literally about to eat a ban from the donation only forum on AUFamily for my outrage.
And I stand by what I said. I hope this abject sack of **** crashes and burns faster than Harsin did.
my take on all this is that there were no criminal QBs on the market this year so they recruited a coach that matched their usual QB profile.I have family that are in the Ole Miss fan base. Copied from a post on another forum from an Auburn fan:
So I am not a HBC and don't understand the pressure. All I am is civil trial lawyer handling six figure, million dollar and multi-million dollar claims where there may or may not be insurance coverage for my clients. Low pressure compared to coarching football I know so the analogy breaks down somewhat.
But I need a new jerb and I am coming to you, a hiring partner, at BIGLAW for that new jerb. .
In doing your due diligence you find out:
at one of my first jerbs I told two of my minor clients they weren't appropriately dressed for court. One had on a Grateful Dead T-Shirt and I said it represented drugs. So I make her change her T-shirt in front of me in my office, despite her asking can't my femal paralegal come in. The other client is wearing too short of a dress so I make her change the dress in the courthouse parking lot.
Things rock along and I get a bigger jerb. At that jerb I use the firm's cell phone to misdial 14 escort services. My actions cause 27 of my verdicts to be vacated. I get the firm sanctioned and I am suspended from being lead counsel for a year by the Bar Association.
At my new job after being fired at that one I DM a sexual assault victim because the man she is accusing of covering up sexual assaults (who was fired from his previous jerb for covering up gang rapes) is th emost Jesus person I know. Only I love the baby Jesus more tan my friend Ian.
Shouldn't I get a second chance?
Bovine-Fecesfrom his speech:
Faith, Attitude, Mental toughness, Integrity, Love, and You are the core elements of what Freeze feels makes a good football team. It also spells family.
... but he forgot the B in FAMBILY
Not sure what it stands for in their acronym (bunglers?), but it needs to be there.
Who is Heather
But he beat Bama 2 years in a row! Duh!Setting aside his off the field issues, what's the big deal? He was 19-21 in the SEC at Ole Miss.
That's literally it.But he beat Bama 2 years in a row! Duh!
Just ignore the other 3 times he lost to Bama.
The only reason Nick and Terry are scared is that they have a daughter and this clown is now inside the state lines.Did he say that...?
Wow!
From your highlighted text: Hence, the term "bagman". It's as old as I can remember, and I'm 63.AuDub I agree with you. All these folk upset with Freeze should look at their own institutions of "higher" learning. Every one has a motto about integrity, honor & yadda yadda yadda. Yet each institution has an AD and coaches and boosters who lie and cheat. Give me a break with AD Speak, Coach Speak. Well, we have to lie for recruiting sake. Enough is enough. SICKENING.
Look, if you want to live your life suggesting anything short of perfection means failure, then there's no point in continuing this particular discussion.AuDub I agree with you. Sounds like a line from the next Anchorman movie: 40% of the time, he beats Bama every time. But he beat Bama 2 years in a row! Duh!
Just ignore the other 3 times he lost to Bama.
The first one in Oxford, Ole Miss deserved the win. We just didn’t play well, and they did.But he beat Bama 2 years in a row! Duh!

All Awburn needs is a DC with alcohol issues and they'd have a "full house". Alabama may "know a guy"...The first one in Oxford, Ole Miss deserved the win. We just didn’t play well, and they did.
The second one in Tuscaloosa took:
- 5 Alabama turnovers, including
- 2 fumbled KO returns, each setting up OM inside the 25
- A miraculous TD on a pass that would have been intercepted, except two Alabama DBs collided, and the ball bounced off the helmet of one into the arms of the OM WR.
- An in-game change of QBs — this was where Cooper Bateman started, but Jake Coker took over about midway in the game and never looked back
- An egregious missed OL downfield call on a different long TD pass that ended up being the game winner.
IOW, it was a gift from the football gods. If you want to hire a football coach (who, BTW, has trouble controlling his sexual impulses, up to and including indications of pedophilia and attempts to influence the actions of a plaintiff in a suit that doesn’t involve him) based on that miracle, well….I don’t know what to say other than JABA.
Honestly I look at the 2015 and 16 games as the gods giving both sides a win that they really shouldn’t have. We had no business winning the 2016 game but had some bizarre circumstances that got us the W. They were not near as bizarre as 2015 but it was definitely a weird win with how we were teetering at getting ran out of the stadium. The first one in Oxford, Ole Miss deserved the win.
