Makes you wonder what Cowher could have accomplished if he kept coaching. stepping away at 49 is crazy. The story Nick told about Jalen practicing with the Eagles , always wearing the white shirt with the Bama 4th quarter program on it , kinda puts to bed the UA/OU controversy.

Well he stepped down because of a dying wife, and he didn’t want to babysit Ben Roethlisberger for another 10 years.

But here is a crazier thing to ponder… what if in the 2000 draft the Steelers take Brady instead of Tee Martin how differently Bill Cowher and Bill Belichick’s legacies look. I mean Bill Cowher was viewed as a far better head coach than Belichick prior to Brady and constantly drug him around before Brady.

But Cowher is probably one of the best stories for a NFL coach of all time. Guy gets to coach his hometown team and is considered by most of the fanbase as the favorite coach of the franchise.

Cowher is pure class. Always loved that guy. In fact, the Rooney family has hired nothing but class for their head coaches. Rare to see that.
