Hope this isn't just coach speak. We'll see Saturday.
of course it is. And saban is doing his job by doing so.
As I've said earlier, unless Saban has suddenly gone blind this season his true feelings about the situation has to be that we don't have a qb that is effective. But you can't come out and just say that.....it would result in negative team morale and a negative attitude. So coach speak it is.......and that's a good thing.

Dropping a starter down the depth chart after a no so good game (or practice) is very a common practice of successful coaches. Bryant did it. Saban has done it before. The great John Wooden once said that the bench was a coach's best friend.
I suspect Bama will come out focused.

One thing I don't understand though is after benching a player why tell him to his face "I want to see you handle this ___" ? If you say that to a guy's face you never know if the player is reacting to the benching in a genuine way or simply the way they think will please the coach.
We do not know all the facts and Coach has been doing this for a long time. So, not sure anything is meant for our understanding. Fair game for good stuff or bad stuff on the field for us to criticize but everything else is simply guessing game fodder.

Coach Saban has WON 7 National Championships, 6 at ALABAMA. No person on Tidefans has won 6 or 7, including me. So, we have the GOAT#2 as our COACH and I trust his coaching. I also trusted Coach Bryant, GOAT#1, as I look at his framed picture in my study and all the books that I have that are about this former player and coach at Alabama.

Look, who won the last two National Championships: a former assistant under Coach Saban. I don't like that guy or UGA, but he must have learned from Coach Saban regarding how to COACH and Administer a winning program. Look who beat Alabama this year so far, a former assistant under Coach Saban at Alabama. Now, I do like this former OC, but I don't like losing to him or especially Texas. Now, I think he perfected his coaching under the GOAT#2. There's another coach that I like a little and he also was an assistant under Coach Saban and we'll see him on Saturday. Now, I hope we BEAT him and Ole Sis real BAD, but he also may have learned a few tricks under Coach Saban.

Go easy on our Coach even with J. Milroe at QB. Many universities would have loved for him to coach at their universities. I think GOAT#2 will know when to hang it up. Hopefully, if he gave it up at the end of the year, we would not hire a DuBose, an Ears Whitworth, a Mike Shula, et al. GOAT#2 is a CLASS ACT!!!!!!!

Who will be GOAT#3? Will it be a former assistant of GOAT#2? I just don't know.

Roll Tide Roll forever!

Maybe the above post should have been in the thread entitled: Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward
